West"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/09\/images.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1816 aligncenter\" alt=\"images\" src=\"http:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/09\/images.jpg\" width=\"187\" height=\"132\" \/><\/a>Happy Labor Day and welcome to my first edition of Coffee and a Review.\u00a0 You may be wondering what exactly Coffee and a Review is going to consist of.\u00a0 Well, I am always going to have a mouth-watering\u00a0cup of coffee with a hopefully mouth-watering\u00a0review.\u00a0 This week it is definitely true.\u00a0 I&#8217;m hoping to start everyone&#8217;s week off with a great cup of java and a review.\u00a0 So, for this week and my inaugural review I have a wonderful romantic suspense book by Marsha West.\u00a0 It balances very well with the\u00a0suspense and romance.\u00a0 This week I&#8217;m starting you guys off with a book that will definitely keep you guessing.\u00a0 Be sure to check out my full review after the book blurb.\u00a0 Well if you are celebrating Labor Day I hope you have a great holiday, but if you aren&#8217;t I hope this starts your week off with a bang.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/09\/18302538.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-1815\" alt=\"18302538\" src=\"http:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/09\/18302538.jpg\" width=\"126\" height=\"189\" \/><\/a>Book Blurb:<\/h2>\n<p>Two years after the murder of her husband, someone guns down Jill Barlow\u2019s father, a Texas State Representative. The authorities suspect a connection between the murders, but can\u2019t find proof. Jill longs for the peace she found when she visited Vermont after her husband\u2019s death. In an effort to protect her grown children, she doesn&#8217;t tell them violence continues to stalk the family.<br \/>\nDespite having lost so much already, with the lives of her family and friends at stake, will Jill be required to make more sacrifices, even the hope of a second chance at love?<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align:left;\">Review:<\/h2>\n<p>In <em>Vermont Escape<\/em>. we first meet Jill Barlow as she has arrived to Woodstock, Vermont for the second time to visit her friend.\u00a0 Unfortunately, both occasions were precipitated by horrible tragedy.\u00a0 During her first recovery of grief she fell in love with the town and now that she is back she knows this is going to be a longer stay then she originally planned.\u00a0 Jill soon meets the owner of a crystal shop and her very handsome and some-what hostile son.\u00a0\u00a0 When Jarrod\u00a0Phillips meets Anne he knows that she is Texan, blonde, beautiful and a person he wants nothing to do with.\u00a0 It&#8217;s Jarrod&#8217;s\u00a0mother who is selling the crystal shop and Jill soon finds her interest peaked at purchasing the shop and starting a new life in Woodstock.\u00a0 Though Jarrod\u00a0is adamantly opposed he realizes its his mother&#8217;s business and opts to be cordial to Jill.\u00a0 That is until uncharacteristic break-ins begin to happen to Jill.\u00a0 She begins to worry that trouble may have found her and is now endangering all that she has become to love.\u00a0 Along with her troubles her and Jarrod&#8217;s attraction builds\u00a0 but can she trust him with her troubles all the while knowing he may choose the town and family over\u00a0a possible future with her.<\/p>\n<p>Marsha West&#8217;s debut novel is fantastic.\u00a0 I enjoyed the story and the wonderful weaving she does of the suspense and romance.\u00a0 Her build up to Jarrod\u00a0and Jill&#8217;s relationship is very natural and believable.\u00a0 I also loved how she balanced the story&#8217;s many locations.\u00a0 She did wonderfully when need be she had to jump from Texas to Las Vegas to Vermont to Florida.\u00a0 This story is great for anyone who has read Jerrie Alexander&#8217;s works.\u00a0 If not you can check out my reviews of her books.\u00a0 The romantic suspense in this book really gives you an adventure and at times an adrenaline rush that will make you breathe hard and your heart race.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re looking for a fresh suspense with a great love story be sure to pick <em>Vermont Escape<\/em> up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Labor Day and welcome to my first edition of Coffee and a Review.\u00a0 You may be wondering what exactly Coffee and a Review is going to consist of.\u00a0 Well, I am always going to have a mouth-watering\u00a0cup of coffee with a hopefully mouth-watering\u00a0review.\u00a0 This week it is definitely true.\u00a0 I&#8217;m hoping to start everyone&#8217;s&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"content-type":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[1016,1301,1478,1737],"class_list":["post-1814","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-book-reviews","tag-marsha-r-west","tag-romance","tag-suspense","tag-vermont-escape"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Coffee and a Review with Vermont Escape by Marsha R.
