Which is perfect since their detective agency caters to the supernatural. So, a job finding relics for an ancient daemon should be simple.<\/p>\n<p>The daemon needs the relics to keep a dangerous portal closed. His enemy, Gabriel, wants the relics to open the portal and give his people access to a new feeding ground \u2013 Earth.<\/p>\n<p>Stunning humanity with their existence, portals to other worlds begin to open and the creatures of magic return to Earth.<\/p>\n<p>When Gabriel threatens their family, Thulu and La Fi&#8217;s search becomes personal. The couple will need powerful allies in the race to find the relics before Gabriel does. But maybe that&#8217;s what grateful dead, magical allies and daemonic clients are for.<\/p>\n<p>When the creatures of myth and magic return to Earth, they&#8217;re nothing like your mother&#8217;s fairy tales.<\/p>\n<h2>Review:<\/h2>\n<p>La Fi and Thulu\u00a0have unique abilities.\u00a0 They are both attuned to paranormal aspects of the world.\u00a0 Thulu\u00a0can find anything and La Fi translates for ghosts.\u00a0 These two have turned this into a lucrative business and enjoy their work.\u00a0 That is until one case turns their whole world upside down.\u00a0 Not just their world but the entire world.\u00a0 Portals to other realms are opening and things that people only thought existed in books are now a reality.\u00a0 To close these portals Thulu\u00a0and La Fi have been put in charge of finding Relics to use to close the portals.\u00a0 Without the relics portals will become more frequent and more dangerous things will come out.\u00a0 Charged with basically saving the world Thulu and La Fi must find these relics in time to save their world and protect humanity before time runs out.<\/p>\n<p>I thought this story had a lot of enjoyable aspects.\u00a0 I enjoyed all of the\u00a0 characters and felt the idea of the Light and Dark Ones was a pretty unique take.\u00a0 Thulu\u00a0and La Fi are well-developed\u00a0and quite enjoyable.\u00a0 That being said I had a lot of trouble focusing on this story.\u00a0 I felt too many side stories were added.\u00a0 I liked Reo&#8217;s story and thought that was quite helpful in moving the story along, but as we got into more and more creatures and their stories I thought the story got weighted down and I lost sight of what the whole goal was.\u00a0 I understand that in a first book you want to put as much as you can into a story but sometimes four or five well-developed characters can allow for the upcoming books to delve deeper into the smaller characters.\u00a0 Overall, I did enjoy the story but I felt I had information overload which let me lose focus on the whole point of the story.\u00a0 I do think this series has wonderful potential but I think the story in the future needs to be a bit more streamlined.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good Morning Everyone!\u00a0 I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and hopefully you will start your week off well.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to start your book week off with a paranormal mystery\/suspense book.\u00a0 It&#8217;s got some great characters and the story is very unique.\u00a0 Check out my review after the book blurb.\u00a0 So, I hope&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"content-type":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[996,1093,1171,1272,1478],"class_list":["post-1866","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-book-reviews","tag-maer-wilson","tag-mystery","tag-paranormal","tag-relics","tag-suspense"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 -
