Cooper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been gifted in being able to read and review two books of Andrea Coopers.\u00a0 <em>The Garnet Dagger<\/em> is a great paranormal romance with lots of action, mythical creatures and of course, romance.\u00a0 I really enjoyed this quick read and look forward to her continuing the journey of her characters in this book.\u00a0 For my full review be sure to check it out after the book blurb.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/02\/17364172.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2161\" alt=\"17364172\" src=\"http:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/02\/17364172.jpg?w=195\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Book Blurb:<\/h2>\n<p>Forbidden to cross the Elvin barrier into human lands, Brock cannot sate his curiosity. Cursed by a vampyre bite that forces him to feed on the life-essence of others, he is unable to touch another without taking their life. Chained by prophesy, he must find a witch, pierce her heart, and draw her blood for his cure.<\/p>\n<p>Celeste must escape the monks who have held her prisoner for years. Her magic has been kept dormant by her captors. An ancient powerful Warloc craves her powers. If he succeeds in devouring her magic, she and the world will die.<\/p>\n<p>When Brock falls in love with Celeste before realizing her demise is his cure, will love triumph over his desire to be healed? Will he risk everything to save her from a Warloc, an oath breaker, who also wants her dead?<\/p>\n<h2>Review:<\/h2>\n<p>We first meet Brock doing something that the young Elfin should not, observing humans.\u00a0 In doing this he is lured by a\u00a0moaning human to an area of the forest that seems to be dying.\u00a0 Brock not wanting to leave the injured human goes to help.\u00a0 When he comes upon what he thinks is a dying human he soon realizes his mistake and is attacked by a vampire.\u00a0 After the attack is reversed and Brock becomes cursed he returns home.\u00a0 It isn&#8217;t until he unknowingly kills his bride to be that he realizes the curse and what it means to his elfin family.\u00a0 To get rid of the curse and save his family he must find a witch.\u00a0 Brock uses a special dagger to help him find the witch whose blood he must shed.\u00a0 When he finally finds the witch he must kill it is no longer an easy choice.\u00a0 He must choose to save her from a blood thirsty Warloc\u00a0 just kill her himself or forgoe all those he loves and follow his heart which is leading him to this witch.<\/p>\n<p>This was a very clever paranormal romance.\u00a0 It really brings in a lot of different mythical and paranormal creatures to create a story that is both captivating and well written.\u00a0 You really feel for Brock and the choices he unwilling must make.\u00a0 You can also feel for Celeste who also suffers loss due to circumstances that are out of her power.\u00a0 Putting these two characters together was a wonderful beginning to a series that has definite potential.\u00a0 I really hope to see more mythical creatures as Andrea R. Cooper develops this series.\u00a0 I also can&#8217;t wait to see more of Brock and Celeste.\u00a0 There chemistry was magical and that wasn&#8217;t just because she was a witch.\u00a0 Overall, an enjoyable read with the potential to be a good series.\u00a0 I look forward to reading more by Andrea R.
