Day Four of our review fest is a book I’m going to be raving about for a long time.\u00a0 Colleen Hoover has easily become one of my favorite authors.\u00a0 Her stories are wonderfully written and they have such deep emotion entwined you can’t read one of her books without tearing up at least once.\u00a0 But, for Maybe Someday<\/em> it is a complete experience.\u00a0 I think I will dub it the “Colleen Hoover Experience”.\u00a0 She manages to blend music and her story so seamlessly its as if you can hear the songs being written.\u00a0 Though the best thing with this particular book is this can be a complete experience.\u00a0 There is a soundtrack with all of the songs from the book.\u00a0 Yes, I am a total fangirl and have the soundtrack but it was phenomenal listening to the song that was just mentioned in the book.\u00a0 Ok, enough of my gushing.\u00a0 You can read the rest of my review after the book blurb.\u00a0 Believe me you won’t want to miss this one.\u00a0 Oh and don’t forget about my giveaway.<\/p>\n

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She\u2019s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori\u2014and she is left trying to decide what to do next.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can\u2019t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there\u2019s something about Sydney that Ridge can\u2019t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one\u2026<\/p>\n

Review:<\/h2>\n

When we first meet Sydney she has just punched both her ex-best friend and ex-boyfriend.\u00a0 She is standing in the rain waiting for a cab plotting ways on how to now hurt Ridge.\u00a0 Ridge is\/was Sydney’s neighbor across their courtyard who have inadvertently started writing music together.\u00a0 Ridge sends down his roommate to pretty forcibly bring Sydney up to their apartment.\u00a0 When the now soaked Sydney finally meets Ridge in person she finds her self\u00a0 attracted to him even though she is still hurting over the horrendous betrayal of her best friend and boyfriend.<\/p>\n

Ridge sees that Sydney is now in need of a home and he has an extra room.\u00a0 He offers Sydney the extra room in exchange for helping him write songs for his band.\u00a0 Sydney reluctantly agrees.\u00a0 As Sydney and Ridge get closer they fight the attraction they have toward each other.\u00a0 Ridge is loyal to a fault to his girlfriend and will not betray her no matter what, but his heart is pulling him toward Sydney and he knows that he will never leave his girlfriend for anything.\u00a0 Sydney’s attraction to Ridge is growing exponentially but she too will not do what was done to her.\u00a0 When things finally come to a boiling point choices must be made and consequences paid.\u00a0 Can the mind overrule the heart or will the heart win the war on love?<\/p>\n

I LOVED this book.\u00a0 I mean to the point of when I was done I wanted to re-read it so that I could experience it all over again.\u00a0 Maybe Someday<\/em> really has a wonderfully poignant story that has so many levels you don’t even feel like your done when the story is done.\u00a0 You face the challenges that the characters face and you become emotionally ensconced in the story.\u00a0 I think most people have felt the love that has gotten away or the choice you wish you could do over.\u00a0 This book does such a wonderful job taking those emotions and some how make you relive them.<\/p>\n

Ridge and Sydney are such well-developed and evolved characters.\u00a0 They grow through the story even when you think they won’t.\u00a0 The story though fairly simplistic is so real.\u00a0 It illustrates the real challenges in life and in relationships.\u00a0 This really is a story about a boy, a girl and the beautiful music they make.\u00a0 It seems that it can be innocent but when the heart is involved nothing is completely ruled out.\u00a0 I think the torment they both go through fighting what could easily have been a cheating situation brings a level of morality that you don’t necessarily see in books now a days.<\/p>\n

Overall, this is the epitome of a “Colleen Hoover Experience”.\u00a0 Her love of music and writing is shown through out this story.\u00a0 I was so excited for this book and I was not disappointed at all.\u00a0 I couldn’t put it down.\u00a0 I know it may sound clich\u00e9 but I laughed and I cried among all of the other emotions Colleen Hoover wrung out of me.\u00a0 I have to say this is one of her best books.\u00a0 I will always have a place in my heart for Hopeless<\/em> (my fave) but this has definitely wormed its way in and with the soundtrack has given the reader a chance at a unique intimacy with a book.\u00a0 It makes me wish that every book that writes songs or has music in it came with a soundtrack.\u00a0 But, because it doesn’t that makes it all the more rare.\u00a0 Believe me when I say go out and get this book and the soundtrack.\u00a0 You will never experience anything like it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
