Love, like life, is not without risk.
\nVeterinarian Vivian Dane has purchased her uncle\u2019s practice in the tiny town of Wales, Missouri, where most residents still doubt her ability to treat their pets. But Viv is used to being considered less-worthy than her predecessors. After all, her parents are world-renowned wildlife vets, and most everyone is unimpressed she\u2019s chosen to not follow directly in their footsteps. Now Connor, a patient\u2019s owner, is hot for Viv, but clearly doesn\u2019t think she\u2019s dating material because he has a daughter\u2026who he believes no woman is good enough for.
\nBeing a perfect dad is EMT paramedic Connor\u2019s life focus. He can\u2019t seem to stay away from sexy Doctor Viv, but attraction is as far as he\u2019ll ever let it go. His mother abandoned him, leaving him to be raised in the foster system, and then his wife abandoned both him and their daughter. He absolutely will not risk bringing another woman into his little girl\u2019s life and having her feel the hurt of being left\u2026again.
\nForfeiting is easier than attempting and failing. So why does Viv feel compelled to prove she\u2019s a sure bet for Connor and his daughter? Can Connor trust Viv–and himself–enough to play the possibilities?<\/p>\n

Review:<\/h2>\n

Connor is the paramedic on a medevac helicopter.\u00a0 When he is called to a horrible accident that included a cattle truck he meets the new vet Vivian.\u00a0 Though when they meet they feel an instant connection they don’t know who each other is.\u00a0 After their initial meeting they are each struck by the question of finding out who the other is.\u00a0 Though Connor wants to know who the mystery woman from the accident is his dedication for his daughter is all-consuming.\u00a0 So, when his daughter’s pet skunk needs a vet his mystery is solved and his problems only begin.\u00a0 Connor fights his attraction to Viv and Viv feels the need to prove that she is perfect for him and his daughter.\u00a0 It becomes an ongoing tug of war between Connor’s feelings for Viv and Connor’s dedication to his daughter.\u00a0 Can Connor find a good balance or will a good woman slip through his fingers?
\nThis was a sweet love story.\u00a0 I really liked Connor and Viv.\u00a0 I thought they were very likable.\u00a0 My favorite had to be Janna, Connor’s daughter.\u00a0 She was so fun and loveable.\u00a0 Though I really enjoyed the love story I got a bit frustrated with Connor’s constant negative reactions about anything that Viv would say.\u00a0 He was overly sensitive for most of the book.\u00a0 I also thought that it was a good move in adding in Viv’s parents and her relationship with them.\u00a0 It really gave her depth and an added intricacy.\u00a0 Overall, I thought this was a good story even if Connor was a tad bit annoying at times.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
