{"id":24,"date":"2012-03-24T02:51:42","date_gmt":"2012-03-24T06:51:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bookmaven623.wordpress.com\/?p=24"},"modified":"2012-03-24T02:51:42","modified_gmt":"2012-03-24T06:51:42","slug":"reading-does-it-really-matter-what","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jackiepaxsonauthor.com\/index.php\/2012\/03\/24\/reading-does-it-really-matter-what\/","title":{"rendered":"Reading&#8230;Does it really matter what?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have noticed through a lot of the media that they are really coming down hard on certain types of books and the stereotypical people who read them.\u00a0 These books tend to be on the romantic side and some have sexual undertones.\u00a0 My question is does it really matter what your\u00a0reading as long as your reading?<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think anyone has the right to criticize and make people feel bad that they are not reading a certain kind of &#8220;acceptable&#8221; genre of book.\u00a0 I like anything fiction.\u00a0 But, I am currently in a trend of reading a lot of paranormal romance.\u00a0 These books have some explicit language and sexual situation.\u00a0 WHO CARES?\u00a0 That doesn&#8217;t make me or anyone else who reads these books desperate, uninformed or sad.<\/p>\n<p>The promotion of literacy is what really matters.\u00a0 Whether you read Romance, Non-fiction, Comic Books or Magazine.\u00a0 The younger generations will develop there love of reading by seeing it done in the environment they are brought up in.<\/p>\n<p>As for the ridiculous criticism of &#8220;desperate, sex depraved&#8221; wives reading these sex riddled books.\u00a0 Again, I ask WHO CARES?\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure the ideas these wives get out of some of these books only encourage the bedroom acrobatics instead of deterring them.\u00a0 And, if the husband\/boyfriend\/significant other\u00a0is complaining then he needs to take up reading the books his wife, girlfriend or significant other is reading.\u00a0 It may only improve your understanding of the person you care about.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have noticed through a lot of the media that they are really coming down hard on certain types of books and the stereotypical people who read them.\u00a0 These books tend to be on the romantic side and some have sexual undertones.\u00a0 My question is does it really matter what your\u00a0reading as long as your&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"content-type":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[230,566,1243],"class_list":["post-24","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-random-thoughts-and-opinions","tag-books","tag-fiction","tag-reading"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Reading...Does it really matter what?
