{"id":2581,"date":"2014-12-09T00:07:41","date_gmt":"2014-12-09T05:07:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bookmaven623.wordpress.com\/?p=2581"},"modified":"2014-12-09T00:07:41","modified_gmt":"2014-12-09T05:07:41","slug":"review-the-donor-by-candace-osmond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jackiepaxsonauthor.com\/index.php\/2014\/12\/09\/review-the-donor-by-candace-osmond\/","title":{"rendered":"Review:  The Donor by Candace Osmond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Monday!!\u00a0 Today I am bringing to you a new book by Candace Osmond.\u00a0\u00a0 Many of you will recognize her from her Iron World series that I have reviewed.\u00a0 <em>The Donor<\/em> is a new sci-fi romance that has a futuristic look at organ &#8220;donation&#8221;.\u00a0 It is a short wonderful book that is gripping and probably way too close to being true.\u00a0 For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.\u00a0 I hope you all have a wonderful week and I will see you all again on Friday.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/12\/23459981.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2582\" src=\"https:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/12\/23459981.jpg?w=200\" alt=\"23459981\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Book Blurb:<\/h2>\n<p><span id=\"freeText11245370348516488148\">What&#8217;s the first thought that would run through your mind if you woke up, completely naked, strapped to an operating table, sans a kidney? What ran through Nora Daniels mind was that, sadly, nobody would even notice she was missing. No family, no friends, not even a boyfriend. No, there would be no Prince Charming busting down the door to save the day or loved ones to mourn her death. Unless she could find a way to uncover the secrets hidden in her past and discover the one thing tying her to this world.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Review:<\/h2>\n<p>Nora wakes groggily to find herself naked and strapped to a table.\u00a0 Not knowing what is going on she tries to get a feel of her surroundings but fails to find an escape route.\u00a0 That is until an unknown knight in shining armor frees her and takes her to the hospital.\u00a0 While at the hospital, Nora meets the very handsome Dr Henry Stokes.\u00a0 It is through him that she realizes what happened to her.\u00a0 But, as her life is slowly returning she finds she is no longer safe.\u00a0 Those that kidnapped her are searching for her and will never stop until she is there.\u00a0 She soon teams up with Henry and they discover what is really going on at the huge organ donation corporation and how that is connected with Nora and Henry.\u00a0 When all is revealed will Nora and Henry be the same or will the worlds they&#8217;ve known come tumbling down?<br \/>\nThis was a great short book.\u00a0 It was well written and exactly what I expect out of a book by Candace Osmond.\u00a0 This story was unique and its characters were engrossing.\u00a0 I loved the twist with Nora and Henry&#8217;s relationship.\u00a0 That really added a sweetness that a sci-fi story like this doesn&#8217;t always have.\u00a0 Candace Osmond has really out done herself with this one.\u00a0 This was definitely a story based in science fiction that could be closer than we think.\u00a0 I think that&#8217;s what made this story really feel real.\u00a0 Overall, this was a great refreshing read.\u00a0 I look forward to Candace&#8217;s next work&#8230;hopefully its the next Iron World book&#8230;hint hint hint.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Monday!!\u00a0 Today I am bringing to you a new book by Candace Osmond.\u00a0\u00a0 Many of you will recognize her from her Iron World series that I have reviewed.\u00a0 The Donor is a new sci-fi romance that has a futuristic look at organ &#8220;donation&#8221;.\u00a0 It is a short wonderful book that is gripping and probably&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"content-type":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[264,1162,1301,1353,1549],"class_list":["post-2581","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-book-reviews","tag-candace-osmond","tag-organ-donation","tag-romance","tag-science-fiction","tag-the-donor"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 -
