It\u2019s 1981. Twenty-four-year-old Julia Nash has recently arrived in Manhattan, where she works as a publisher\u2019s assistant. She dreams of becoming an editor with her own stable of bestselling authors\u2014but it is hard to get promoted in the recession-clobbered book biz.
\nJulia blows off steam by going dancing downtown with her best friend, Vicky. One night, a hot British guitarist invites them into his VIP section. Book Review:<\/h2>\n

Julia is just a lowly assistant editor at a book publisher. She is working hard to go further in her career but when she has some time she likes to dance and listen to music.\u00a0 Its one of these times she goes to her favorite club with her best friend and meets Jack from her favorite group.\u00a0 She can’t believe he would possibly be interested in her and resists his pursuits.\u00a0 It isn’t until Jack is so persistent she can’t possibly see that he’s not serious.\u00a0 Julia decides to take this for what it is until the ride ends.\u00a0 She doesn’t want to get hurt and is just waiting for the other shoe to drop.\u00a0 In the mean time, Jack introduces her to a lifestyle that is completely foreign to anyone but a rock star.\u00a0 But this is what makes Julia doubt herself and their relationship.\u00a0 How could a rock star who can have anyone want a bookish girl like her?
\nThis was a very steamy read.\u00a0 I adored the two main characters.\u00a0 Though there were many times I just would sit there putting myself in her place and wondering if I could ever be in Julia’s shoes.\u00a0 Most of the time it was a now.\u00a0 Now, Jack I definitely wouldn’t so no to having in my bed but as for forever I’d never think that was a possibility.\u00a0 Also, I thought it was interesting that this took place in the 80’s.\u00a0 I caught myself thinking why aren’t they using their cell phones or why does she have records.\u00a0 Then it would hit me again that this was the 80’s and their technology was a lot different.\u00a0 Overall, this was a great read and it really allowed you to have a connection with the characters.\u00a0 I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a rocker romance thrown back to the time of big hair, puffy sleeves and Mtv was only a baby.
