Happy Thursday everyone!\u00a0 Today I have the great pleasure of bringing to you a great historical novel.\u00a0 A Love by Any Measure is set in Ireland in the mid 1800’s.\u00a0 This is definitely a love story that you fear will never come to be.\u00a0 A wonderful historical that illustrates love can overcome even the widest of expanses.\u00a0 For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.\u00a0 I hope all of you are having a wonderful week so far.<\/p>\n

An Irish lass. An English lord.
\nA love that overcomes all boundaries, but at what cost?
\nLord August Grayson, English landlord, has secretly, and much to the dismay of his father, held in reverence the object of his first fancy: poor Irish tenant Maeve O’Connor. Returning to Ireland for the first time since his youth, August discovers that Maeve has grown into a woman of beauty and tenacity. He understands, however, that he could offer Maeve nothing but shame if her pursued her. But when circumstances allow him an opportunity to indulge his fancy, even if only in a limited scope, August finds himself unable to resist the temptation.
\nMaeve,for her part, knows the danger falling for August holds, but finds her heart and her good senses becoming confused the longer she spends in his company. As two hearts become hopelessly entangled, both Maeve and August are forced to question the costs of their love. As consequences of their romance manifest, both struggle with the pain and difficulties their love causes, both for themselves and those who care for them.

Review:<\/h2>\n

August and Maeve knew each other since they were both small and life was simpler.\u00a0 Unfortunately, many years later they are reunited when he is now the Lord and Maeve is still only a tenant on his land.\u00a0 When Maeve goes to him to negotiate terms of payment August devises another plan.\u00a0 He knows he wants her and must have her but his title and her station prevent that so he plans to use this to love her the only way he can.\u00a0 This began as just a ruse to get a few kisses and be done but they both don’t plan for what their hearts have in store.\u00a0 Can August and Maeve overcome the world they live in or will their love slip through their fingers?
\nI will be honest this was a difficult book to begin.\u00a0 I felt it had a slow start and a bit confusing as to where it was going.\u00a0 That being said I ended up falling for this book.\u00a0 The love story has a bit of a Romeo and Juliet kinda feel.\u00a0 Though it spans many years, Killian McRae does a fantastic job pulling it all together.\u00a0 You will become entrenched with the lives of Maeve and August.\u00a0 These two characters are so different but made for each other.\u00a0 When the trials that test their love come crashing down it is their character that helps to bind them.\u00a0 The vivid landscape of Ireland and then eventually America helps to paint the world that they lived in and that unto itself lends the reader to understand the motivations behind the characters.\u00a0 Overall, this is a great historical romance that I would recommend to anyone…even those who are not fans of historical romance.\u00a0 I can’t wait to read another by Killian McRae.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
