Maas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I am bringing to you a series I just started reading and truly have fallen in love with.\u00a0 <em>Throne of Glass<\/em> by Sarah J. Maas is a phenomenal young adult series that feels like a blend of <em>Hunger Games<\/em>, <em>Game of Thrones<\/em> and <em>Divergent<\/em>.\u00a0 A mix of assassins, royal intrigue, a love triangle, magic and much more will draw you in and have you flipping the pages faster and faster.\u00a0 For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.\u00a0 Have an awesome Hump Day!<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/06\/16034235.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2929\" src=\"https:\/\/bookmaven623.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/06\/16034235.jpg?w=200\" alt=\"16034235\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Book Blurb:<\/h2>\n<p><span id=\"freeText4902265603047030696\">In a land without magic, where the king rules with an iron hand, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She comes not to kill the king, but to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she is released from prison to serve as the king&#8217;s champion. Her name is Celaena Sardothien.<br \/>\nThe Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. When her competitors start dying one by one, Celaena&#8217;s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival, and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Review:<\/h2>\n<p>Celaena Sardothien is the most infamous assassin.\u00a0 Though when she is retrieved out of the mines where she has spent her last year she is a mere shadow of herself.\u00a0 She is given a proposition by the Crown Prince to compete to be the King&#8217;s Champion.\u00a0 Given the option of going back to her torture or possibly working for a King she despises she chooses to go into the competition.\u00a0 Once she arrives to a place she only remembers from a year ago before her capture she realizes things may be more challenging than she anticipated.\u00a0 She is forced to train with the Captain of the Guard and fend off the advances of a very attractive Crown Prince.\u00a0 But, these aren&#8217;t her only worries.\u00a0 Once the competition begins other competitors begin being killed off.\u00a0 She must figure out who is behind the killings and maintain her standing in the competition.\u00a0 Though Celaena came for a chance at her freedom she doesn&#8217;t anticipate gaining a friend and two admirers vying for her heart.\u00a0 Will the best assassin win or will the shadows and her past catch up with her?<br \/>\nI was blown away by this book.\u00a0 This book opened up a new world, new adventure and a phenomenal heroine.\u00a0 Celaena is tough, strong and yet has a gentle and intelligent side.\u00a0 You truly find yourself forgetting that she is well-known for killing people for money.\u00a0 I adored the imagery within the story.\u00a0 The glass castle and her opinions of it and its ruler felt natural and honest for the character.\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t just the pretty imagery that really paints a grand picture.\u00a0 The descriptions of the mines and dungeons would make anyone fear being a rebel in this story.\u00a0 I would also be remiss if I didn&#8217;t at least address the love triangle between the Crown Prince, Celaena and the Captain of the Guard.\u00a0 It&#8217;s technically not a standard triangle but there are definitely three hearts and love in the air.\u00a0 Overall, this book has drawn me in hook line and sinker.\u00a0 Sarah Maas has just got a huge fan in me and I will be finishing this series in no time.\u00a0 I have truly fallen for Celaena and her world.\u00a0 I need more!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today I am bringing to you a series I just started reading and truly have fallen in love with.\u00a0 Throne of Glass by Sarah J.
