Widow Finola MacNamara needs a home\u2014and a job. She\u2019s no stranger to hard work, but faced with the dire prospect of being forced to work as a saloon girl, she finds work as a housekeeper for a Louisville banker with an ailing young son. Caring for the young lad helps her grieving heart to heal, and she even finds a secret place for the garden that will make her whole again. But has she also found love, as well?<\/span>
\nWidower Timothy Adams has already lost his wife, now he fears losing his son, too. He\u2019s expecting the housekeeper he\u2019s hired to be an old widow woman, but the lovely brunette who steps off the train isn\u2019t what he was expecting. Before long, his young son is blossoming under Finola\u2019s loving care and his house is soon feeling like a home again. But can the upstanding town banker truly have found love with his Irish housekeeper?<\/p>\n

Review:<\/h2>\n

Finola is definitely not the housekeeper Timothy Adams envisioned when he was given her name.\u00a0 Though she\u00a0is a widow, she is young and very pretty.\u00a0 At first, he feels he must turn her right around and send her back.\u00a0 But, when Finola proves she is a good fit from the start he can’t turn her away.\u00a0 When Finola also figures out what is causing his son’s illness he feels she truly is a gift from God.\u00a0 As Finola finds her place as more than a housekeeper and more of a member of the family she begins to have feelings for Timothy.\u00a0 Though this would be an inappropriate relationship she cannot help herself.\u00a0 She isn’t alone in her feelings but the times they live in give them pause whether to pursue one another.\u00a0 Can they put their reservations aside and follow their hearts or will their stubbornness and social expectations let them lose something special?
\nThis is another win from Mary Wilson.\u00a0 Her talent for blending love and history really brings things alive.\u00a0 I truly loved the love story of Finola and Timothy.\u00a0 It was a bit of a Cinderella story with Finola being the housekeeper and Timothy being her employer.\u00a0 I loved her fiery attitude and her devotion to her work.\u00a0 Mary Wilson’s story telling keeps getting better and better.\u00a0 She really makes you feel as though you are in that era.\u00a0 You are immersed with the culture and social structure making things very relatable.\u00a0 Overall, if you like a good romance with a historical background you will love this book.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
