\nThis was a very interesting book.\u00a0 I loved the cupids and other supernaturals.\u00a0 Evelyn and Andel were great characters.\u00a0 The world within the real world was fantastic.\u00a0 The storytelling was fantastic.\u00a0 There were a lot of fun parts to this book but my favorite was clearly the lack of Evelyn’s ability to curse and her love of chocolate.\u00a0 It really gave her an authenticity that a book like this could lose just because its got paranormal components. I can’t wait to see what is next in this series.\u00a0 I think this could be a really fun and suspenseful one to follow.

\nEXCERPT:<\/strong>
\n\u201cDon\u2019t make this all about you.\u201d Evelyn shoved another spoonful of ice cream in her mouth. \u201cDon\u2019 ge meh wrong, ihithabouoo. Buh\u2014\u201d Swallowing down her bite, Evelyn squinted her eyes shut and placed a hand on her temple. \u201cBrain freeze,\u201d she explained, standing and walking to the kitchen.
\nAndel\u2019s head tilted to one side as he watched her throw the empty cardboard container away. Roscoe would be showing up for his dating lesson soon, and Evelyn needed to compartmentalize so she didn\u2019t end up taking her frustration out on the Gargoyles.
\n\u201cI\u2019m sorry, Evelyn. Whatever I\u2019ve done to upset you, please forgive me.\u201d
\nHer spoon clanged in the sink, \u201cHow about I\u2019ll forgive you if you tell me what you did wrong?\u201d Evelyn made her way back to the couch, laying herself across the cushions like she needed therapy.
\n\u201cI\u2019m fairly sure you are upset I scheduled dinner with Jane and Kendrick during Roscoe\u2019s first date.\u201d
\nKeeping her composure, Evelyn looked Andel square in the eye and told him, \u201cYou\u2019re danish right, I\u2019m upset.\u201d
\nHer pastry slip was proof enough of her anger, but she\u2019d remained in control of her volume. Andel hadn\u2019t asked Evelyn what she wanted to do during Roscoe and Sydney\u2019s date. And after her surprise visit from Kalan, her nerves were fried. Evelyn wanted to be able to make the call for herself as far as where she\u2019d be tomorrow night. She also wanted to decide for herself if she\u2019d give the fairies her arrows. Maybe she\u2019d keep her run-in with Kalan to herself for now.
\n\u201cI\u2019ll call Jane now and cancel the dinner.\u201d
\n\u201cYou have her number?\u201d Evelyn sat up and narrowed her eyes. She shook her head, clearing it. Why should Andel having Jane\u2019s number matter? \u201cNo. Don\u2019t cancel it. It was hard enough to convince her to come in the first place.\u201d
\n\u201cAre you sure?\u201d
\nKnock, knock.<\/em>
\n\u201cYes,\u201d Evelyn grumbled as she went to answer the door. Roscoe\u2019s arrival would at least keep Andel from asking any more questions. She could tell he had picked up that something else was bothering her, but luckily, she had planned Roscoe\u2019s dating lessons for after work.
\nAs Roscoe and Leo entered the apartment, Andel made himself scarce and took a seat in a chair at the edge of the room. Roscoe wore snappy attire, including a bowtie, while Leo had pushed the sleeves of his Henley up to his elbows. The two were complete opposites. Leo had made himself comfortable on the couch, and Roscoe stood at the window waiting for instructions.
\n\u201cI\u2019m glad you came, Leo. I may need your help tomorrow night.\u201d Evelyn stood next to Roscoe. \u201cYou\u2019ll be on awkward-moment patrol.\u201d She patted Roscoe\u2019s shoulder. \u201cNow that I think about it, this will be perfect. You can circle overhead and stay out of sight, but if Roscoe needs help, you can run interference.\u201d Leo\u2019s eyes widened in excitement. \u201cNot literally, but, you have super-hearing, right?\u201d
\nLeo nodded.
\n\u201cIf you hear or see anything going wrong, you can come get me.\u201d
\nA grin spread over Leo\u2019s face. \u201cConsidering who we\u2019re talking about here,\u201d Leo waved in Roscoe\u2019s direction. \u201cWhat constitutes wrong<\/em>?\u201d
\n\u201cWe\u2019ll work on identifying that as we go, so pay attention.\u201d Evelyn faced Roscoe and reached up, tucking a piece of his curly hair behind his ear, but Roscoe flinched.
\n\u201cRelax.\u201d Evelyn stepped closer. \u201cYou\u2019re going to have to get used to being close to Sydney. If she\u2019s like every other girl on the planet, she\u2019ll want you to hold her hand and put your arm around her.\u201d
\nEvelyn let her arm brush against Roscoe\u2019s. He sucked in air but didn\u2019t budge. He froze. Evelyn couldn\u2019t let Roscoe fail. She had started to like him. She wanted him to find love. She wanted Sydney to find love, too, and if it happened to be with Roscoe, then, bonus. She\u2019d do everything in her power to help them have the chance they deserved.
\nRoscoe relaxed his fists at his sides. \u201cOkay, I\u2019ll work on that.\u201d
\n\u201cGood.\u201d Evelyn ran her finger slowly down Roscoe\u2019s arm. \u201cHow about we start with the end of the date, then?\u201d
\nLeo whistled, and in the corner of Evelyn\u2019s vision, she noticed Andel shift in his chair.
