\nI looked away, not wanting her to see the satisfaction on my face.\u00a0 Because truth be told, while I knew Liv enjoyed the sex we had\u2014the multiple orgasms and the fact that she\u2019d returned for round two were enough of a sign\u2014the idea that she\u2019d most likely slept with guys years older than me with plenty more experience on how to make a woman feel good left me with this irrational sense of frustration. Like I was automatically playing catch up in the race to\u2026what? What did I want with Liv? Sure, no guy wanted to think they weren\u2019t the best sex a woman had ever had, but the thought that I cared about more than just my own selfish pride kept niggling away in the back of my mind.
\nAnd while I was being so honest with myself, I might as well acknowledge how my insecurities extended to things other than sex. Like the fact that I\u2019d painstakingly picked up after myself around the apartment every night before I crashed in the sad hope that I\u2019d actually get her into my bed one day. Sure, an element of that was about leaving college, starting fresh, playing grown-up as we all used to joke about, but I couldn\u2019t deny that a small part of me was doing this to show Liv I wasn\u2019t just a college kid anymore.

I\u2019d had to stop myself from rubbing up against the table ledge for fear of embarrassing myself.

\nKim Carmody lives in Australia with her husband, in a sunny little part of Melbourne that she never wants to leave. Except for frequent trips to New York, she is happy to leave at least once a year for those.
\nShe holds a Masters in Commerce Marketing and while she spent her younger years training to become a professional dancer, she somehow ended up working in the sports industry, where she met her now husband.\u00a0 Never a participant or spectator of sport growing up (she was too busy flitting around in a tutu), she has grown to appreciate, if not love many sports and eventually found herself writing about them too.
\nAs an avid book lover from the moment she was introduced to The Babysitters Club as a seven year-old, Kim never expected to be able to call herself an author, but is beyond excited that she now can.
