Cooper MacKenzie snorted, \u201cYou were<\/em> a cop.\u201d<\/h3>\n

Grant\u2019s hands fisted in his lap and his gaze dropped to stare at them as the familiar anger raged through his body. His light brown hair, which was long overdue for a cut, hung down to hide his expression. He knew Cooper hadn\u2019t meant anything by it, but damn<\/em>, the words still pierced him like a knife to the gut.<\/h3>\n

\u201cMy mistake,\u201d he said. \u201cI was<\/em> a cop.\u201d<\/h3>\n

\u201cCome on, Grant. You know I didn\u2019t mean it that way. Hell, you\u2019re still the best there is. Your chief will wake up and realize his screw-up before long. Though I\u2019ve always thought you and the city would clash before too long. Hell, look at you. You look like you walked out of one of those Marlboro<\/em> commercials. What the hell is a country boy like you doing in Detroit anyway?\u201d<\/h3>\n

Cooper wasn\u2019t the first person to tell him he didn\u2019t belong in the Motor City. But he\u2019d served the city with a purpose. He\u2019d worked undercover, and he\u2019d been an asset to the force. It wasn\u2019t often they came across a six-foot-five, two-hundred-and-forty-five pound bruiser to work the biker bars and clubs.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no going back, Coop. I gave that shithole city the best years of my life. And for what? The only thing Boone knows is that his future plans don\u2019t include Liza Carmichael. She\u2019s bossy, temperamental, and the confections she bakes are sweet enough to tempt a saint. Thank God he\u2019s never pretended to be one. But after he gets one taste of Liza and things start heating up in the kitchen, he realizes how delicious new beginnings can be.<\/h3>\n

Review:<\/h2>\n

Liza Carmichael has no intention in staying in Surrender.\u00a0 The small town is nothing compared to the hustle and bustle of New York City.\u00a0 When she meets Grant she figures he may be one sexy way to pass the time.\u00a0 What she doesn’t count on is a crazy woman out to see revenge on him.\u00a0 Between bullets flying, running through the woods and sexy times in a safe house Liza and Grant start to rethink their plans on the future.\u00a0 That is if they survive and have one.
\nThis was a very exciting novella.\u00a0 I loved Liza character.\u00a0 She was really a crazy character that let how she felt out even if they meant driving her car into a house.\u00a0 Grant is one sexy hunk of man.\u00a0 He is definitely a character that any woman would want protecting her and having sexy times with her.\u00a0 The story was very fast paced and exciting.\u00a0 Between showers of gun fire, running through the woods and car chases it is a page turner.\u00a0 I really enjoyed this novella.\u00a0 This was my first Liliana Hart book but it won’t be my last.\u00a0 Can’t wait to see what she has up next.<\/p>\n
