Raven hates her brother’s best friend.\u00a0 She can’t stand to be around him for a family dinner let alone work with him.\u00a0 Unfortunately, she is stuck and he currently didn’t have a job.\u00a0 What she doesn’t count on is that the closer they worked the thin line between love and hate gets blurred.\u00a0 After years of hating each other can Raven and Parker take their love of hating each other and actually love each other?\u00a0 Or will they burn down the town with their animosity?
\nYet another win by Emma Hart.\u00a0 I loved Raven when she was introduced in Casanova but the more we get to know this very fiesty mixologist the more you see how perfect her and the cocky Parker are for one another.\u00a0 The sexual tension between the two is amazing.\u00a0 Its practically tangible.\u00a0 The banter between them is both funny and sexually tinged.\u00a0 Though Raven and Parker alone are enough to set the pages on fire, Raven’s family was a fantastic addition.\u00a0 Her family added a level of fun filled drama that only a Greek family can add.\u00a0 Overall, this book was memorable and extremely sexy.\u00a0 I can’t wait for Emma Hart’s next book.\u00a0 They just keep getting better.<\/p>\n

I knew I was making a mistake. After what Raven said last night at dinner, I had the strongest urge to find out what her cocktail menu was. With names like Dirty Screw and The Slutwhisperer, what other gems did she have hidden on there?
\nShit, what gems were hidden inside her apparently filthy mind?
\nI had no place to be thinking that. She was Ryan\u2019s sister and the bane of my goddamn existence. I didn\u2019t give a shit what was inside her head or how she came up with a filthy cocktail menu.
\nI was going to believe that she\u2019d spent stupid amounts of time on the Internet coming up with those kinds of names. Seeing her in that damn short dress yesterday had already affected me enough\u2014not to mention the fact that she\u2019d changed since I last saw her.
\nI didn\u2019t know people could change so much in only three years, but Raven Archer had. She was no longer post-grad, trying to seriously figure out what she wanted to do with her life, uncertain and serving burgers to people to make money.
\nShe was grown-up, in more ways than just her age. She was even hotter-headed that she was back then. She seemed stronger and more stubborn, and her tongue was so sharp I probably have scars from how quickly she cut me with her words.
\nShe was taller and fucking curvier, too.
\nHer lips were fuller. Her eyes were brighter. And the general air that hung about her, that hint of sass and sexiness, the very same thing that made me insult her whenever I opened my mouth almost made me want her, too.
\nAnd that was exactly why I couldn\u2019t sit and think about what went on in her mind\u2014filthy or otherwise.
\nNo matter what she looked like or how fucking hot she was, she was my best friend\u2019s sister. Nobody was more off-limits than she was. That wasn\u2019t a new development. It had always been that way.
\nThank fucking god I was only here for the summer, and only because my mother had guilted me into it.
\nAs soon as the summer was over, I\u2019d go for my next challenge.
\nI could get through a few weeks of being in the same town or two as Raven\u2014because after today, avoidance was at the top of my life.
\nOtherwise, I\u2019d go fucking insane.
\nDirty was right on the seafront, only meters away from a small, sandy bay. It\u2019d only taken me a few minutes to walk here from where I\u2019d parked downtown, and despite the music coming from inside the bar, I could still hear the gentle crashing of the waves as they crawled up the sand. The water was right out, and I stared out at the water as I headed up the hill to the bar.
\nFairy lights twinkled along the underside of the roof that jutted out over the sidewalk. It was like a goddamn princess castle from the outside, but the beachy vibe was evident. Different sized and colored shells covered the pillars that held up the balcony that jutted out over the front doors.
\nI pushed open the door. Cold air blasted into me, and so did the heavy bass beat of the music that blared out from the speakers just above my head. There were more fairy lights inside, but they were strung all beneath the bar, across the beams on the ceiling, and over the back wall where the spirits were on the wall. There wasn\u2019t much else in the way of lighting, but what there was was effective enough in holding the entire space into a balance between bright and dusky.
\nThe inside of Raven\u2019s bar was like being outside at the moment the sun set.
\nI cast my gaze over the rest of the bar. The solid, wood tables and stools that lines the walls and filled the space to my left all had tiny vases of fresh flowers in. Even those were surrounded by fairy lights.
\nFucking hell, did she let a class of little girls in here to decorate?
\nNo matter what I felt about the fairy lights, it looked good. Damn good.
\nI stepped up to the bar and leaned forward on it. Raven was at the other end of the bar, wearing jeans and a tight tank top that tucked beneath the waistband. Strappy, silver heels on her feet glinted off the under-bar lighting, and it was all too easy for me to drop my eyes there then slowly drag my gaze up the length of her entire body.
\nLight bounced off the chrome cocktail shaker in her hand as she shook it. She popped off the top with one slick of her thumb, and without spilling a drop, poured the pink-red liquid into two martini-style glasses. With her other hand, she reached back to the register and jabbed at it.
\nSeconds later, she was handing them back their change. It all happened in a flash.
\nHow did such she go from lost to\u2026this\u2026so quick?
\n\u201cRaven!\u201d A dark-haired woman sitting a few stools away from me with her friend yelled. \u201cThere\u2019s a hot guy staring at you!\u201d
\nI laughed loudly as Raven jerked around. Her gaze landed on me with what felt like a snap, and I swore she mouthed, \u201cMotherfucker,\u201d before she stalked to this end of the bar.
\nHer hands slapped on the bar in front of me. \u201cWhat are you doing here?\u201d
\n\u201cI told you I was coming to check out your menu.\u201d
\n\u201cHe was checking out more than the menu,\u201d the woman\u2019s friend giggled.
\nRaven held her finger up to them, and with her other hand, slapped a smooth, laminated menu in front of me. \u201cDid you drive?\u201d
\n\u201cNo, I walked all the way from Key West.\u201d I picked up the menu. \u201cOf course I drove.\u201d
\n\u201cPick one,\u201d she said, moving away. \u201cI\u2019m not serving you anymore than that. Make it a good choice. What can I get for you?\u201d she asked someone else, cutting me off before I could say a word.
\nI raised my eyebrows.
\n\u201cShe runs a tight ship,\u201d the first woman said. \u201cThree days ago, there was a guy in here spiking drinks. She caught him and bashed him in the balls with her cocktail shaker so he couldn\u2019t run from the security guard.\u201d
\nCould my eyebrows go up any higher? \u201cThat doesn\u2019t surprise me in the slightest. I\u2019ve seen her do worse.\u201d
\nThe second woman\u2019s eyes narrowed. \u201cYou have? You know her?\u201d
\nThe first woman rolled her eyes. \u201cOf course he does, Cam. When have you seen her react to a customer like that? He obviously pissed her off in a past life or something.\u201d
\n\u201cI should be so lucky.\u201d I smirked. \u201cMore like all in this life.\u201d
\n\u201cHer brother\u2019s friend, right?\u201d She tilted her head to the side. \u201cYeah, she mentioned she hated you.\u201d
\nShe\u2019d talked about me?
\n\u201cShe didn\u2019t say you were hot, though,\u201d the second woman said.
\n\u201cCamille!\u201d
\nAhhh.
\nThe best friends.
\n\u201cWhat?\u201d Camille said. \u201cI\u2019m just saying.\u201d
\n\u201cNo more Slutwhisperers for you,\u201d the other woman\u2014the one I presumed to be Lani\u2014said, reaching for her glass.
\nCamille leaned over and slurped the last of the drink through the straw.
\nThat explained the name of the cocktail.
\n\u201cWhat are you doing?\u201d Raven asked, stopping in front of them. \u201cCam? Your glass is empty. Let me refill that for you.\u201d She winked to the other girl as she turned around.
\nWhat was she doing?
\nShe put her back to her friends and grabbed the tequila bottle. She tipped it over a cocktail shaker without actually pouring anything into it. My lips quirked up as she put together what was some pink juice or something and blended it with raspberries.
\nShe poured the mixture into a glass with some vigor in front of Camille.
\nShe\u2019d made her a placebo.
\n\u201cMade your choice?\u201d Raven turned to me, holding onto the shaker.
\n\u201cNo.\u201d I spun the menu to face her. \u201cWhat do you think I should have?\u201d
\nCompletely straight-faced, she said, \u201cThe Blue Balls.\u201d
