Review:<\/h2>\n

Rhett gets a call he never wanted.\u00a0 Being away for a year and coming back to horrible news brings him to his knees.\u00a0 What he doesn’t expect is how grown up his best friend’s little sister has become.\u00a0 He knows she is off limits for the one reason.\u00a0 With things in his life spiraling he decides that he needs to control the one thing in his life.\u00a0 Taking her will be the best or worst thing in his life.
\nLike every other book Meghan March writes this is sexy, suspenseful and so addictive.\u00a0 This is the first book I read from this series.\u00a0 Now, I know I must go back and read them all.\u00a0 Rhett and Ari were fantastic.\u00a0 Their chemistry was off the charts.\u00a0 I loved the inner monologue of these two.\u00a0 It brought some comic relief to so very troubling times in the book.\u00a0 Of all the Meghan March books I’ve read I have to say this is probably one of the most suspenseful.\u00a0 It had you guessing who the villain was and who the traitor was.\u00a0 Until all is revealed, you are really left guessing.\u00a0 I will say that you should probably read the books in order.\u00a0 Their are names of people who are important that I didn’t know.\u00a0 That didn’t stop me from enjoying this highly exciting, highly sexual and oh so addictive book.\u00a0 If I wasn’t a huge Meghan March fan before, I would be now.<\/p>\n

Wham<\/em>. My heart slammed against my ribs as it sped up about twenty beats per minute.
\nThe heat and delicious woodsy citrus scent radiating from his body did good things to me. Things that made me want to do very bad things to him. I wasn\u2019t a seventeen-year-old virgin anymore. I knew my way around a man, but I had to admit, the hipsters in Cali had nothing on a homegrown Louisiana man like Rhett.
\nWhen he spoke, he leaned in so close that I could feel his breath on my ear. \u201cYou missed that shot on purpose.\u201d
\nMy gaze jumped from the sexy five o\u2019clock shadow shading his jaw to his piercing green eyes.
\n\u201cWha-what are you talking about?\u201d I smacked myself mentally when my old stammer kicked in. Of course he would cause it.<\/em>
\n\u201cThat shot. You missed on purpose. I saw you adjust at the last minute. Why?\u201d
\nI swallowed the saliva pooling in my mouth and decided to take the safest exit from this situation. Lying.<\/em>
\n\u201cCue slipped.\u201d
\nHis eyes narrowed on me. \u201cYou\u2019re lying and you\u2019re terrible at it, just like you\u2019ve always been.\u201d He reached up and pressed his thumb to my left eyebrow. \u201cYou get a twitch right here.\u201d
\nOh my God. Rhett Hennessy is touching me. And what\u2019s more . . . he knows my tell. He noticed me!<\/em>
\nThe fifteen-year-old inside me did a terrible cartwheel at the realization. Okay, more of a round-off. With a tumble in the grass to finish. Whatever.
\nBut outwardly, I was trapped in that green gaze until he decided to let me go\u2014or until I came to my senses.
\nI cleared my throat and sidestepped him. \u201cWhatever you say, hotshot. I need another drink.\u201d
\nFocusing on putting one four-inch heel in front of the other without biting it, I escaped to the table and reached for the whiskey glass I\u2019d left behind, interrupting my brother and the waitress. They both stared at me as I chugged the contents.
\nI\u2019d always wondered what it would feel like to have Rhett\u2019s attention, and now I knew. In a word, it was . . . unnerving.
\n\u201cHow\u2019s the game going?\u201d my brother asked.
\n\u201cFine.\u201d Keeping my answer short meant he couldn\u2019t tell that I was lying. Heath wasn\u2019t nearly as observant as Rhett.
\n\u201cYou winning?\u201d
\nThanking the Lord that Heath obviously hadn\u2019t been watching, I shrugged. \u201cI guess.\u201d
\nHe glanced toward Rhett and then back to me. \u201cThe sister I know and love doesn\u2019t lose at pool. Ever. Even to Rhett Hennessy.\u201d
\nI lowered the glass to the table and straightened my shoulders. \u201cLike they say, things change.\u201d
\nHe nodded slowly. \u201cThat may be true about most things, Flounder. But you\u2019re a pool shark and we both know it.\u201d
\nBefore I could respond, Heath\u2019s attention jumped back to the waitress. I took another ten seconds to gather myself, also known as drinking offensively<\/em> in my mind, before I crossed the floor to face off against my former obsession.
\n\u201cYou all right, Red?\u201d Rhett asked.
\n\u201cDon\u2019t call me that. And I\u2019ve never been better.\u201d
\nHis gaze dipped to my feet and dragged up my body. \u201cI can agree with that statement.\u201d
\nWhoa. Who is this guy with the innuendo? <\/em>A glance at his empty whiskey glass told me he was drinking heavily as well. Was this the booze talking? Or was Rhett Hennessy not just noticing me, but noticing<\/em> me?
\nEither way, I had to play it cool. Or at least pretend to play it cool, since it seemed I might fall short.
\n\u201cYour turn, hotshot. Better not miss, because I\u2019ll clear the table next time,\u201d I said, but my cocky attitude backfired.
\nRhett didn\u2019t miss. He sank his balls and then the eight, ending the game almost as quickly as it started. He returned his cue to the rack and turned to face me, all traces of the earlier heat banked, his expression shuttered.
