Lilly turned from the coffee maker to find her nonna\u2019s grin-covered face.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cThe St. Helena Hotties Fireman\u2019s Calendar,\u201d Cha-Cha clarified, as if Lilly should know, while she unloaded five fruitcakes from the bottom oven. She placed them on a cooling rack on the counter, then removed her jingle-bell oven mitts like a doctor after surgery. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Looking a little sneaky and very guilty, she tiptoed closer to Lilly. \u201cAll the firefighters are holding the most adorable little puppies,\u201d she whispered. \u201cAnd the proceeds go to St. Paws Rescue. Let me show it to you.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cOh, no, no, no\u2026\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Cha-Cha tucked a stray curl back into her bun and strutted to the counter near the oven. \u201cSit, sit, sit\u2026\u201d She waved at her and pointed to the island, her red-beaded sleeves flapping. Lilly reluctantly slid onto her stool again. \u201cThose hotties are in here somewhere\u2026\u201d Cha-Cha shuffled through a drawer. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
ChiChi looked up from her gooey project long enough to give Lilly a sly smile.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cViola!\u201d Cha-Cha pulled a glossy package from the drawer. \u201cI\u2019ve been saving this for Mr. January. But at my age I might not be around, so why wait?\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cPlease don\u2019t say that, Nonna.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cWhat God wants\u2026\u201d ChiChi volunteered. And at the mention of the lord above, the sisters simultaneously blessed themselves. \u201cName of the Father, the Son\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Lilly took a deep breath. She couldn\u2019t imagine the planet without her nonna. Life was difficult enough without Grandpa. Although her nonna kept her Ryo maiden name, like her sisters had, Cha-Cha Ryo remained head over heels in love with Edwardo Antonio Martelli until the day he died. He was the love of her life. So, as much as Lilly had zero desire to look at Brett Benning in the buff\u2014with the grannies\u2014<\/i>she was tickled to see her grandmother so happy.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Cha-Cha tore the wrapping off the calendar and smirked, letting her know her dead-on intuition had picked up Lilly\u2019s interest in Brett. Presenting the calendar like a fragile piece of china, Cha-Cha practically danced to her. \u201cWipe your hands. We don\u2019t want to get anything on the pictures. Especially the good parts,\u201d she chuckled. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cYou didn\u2019t have to unwrap it,\u201d Lilly said, reluctantly wiping her hands on a bright red dish towel. \u201cYou could\u2019ve left Mr. January in the drawer.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Cha-Cha sidled next to her. \u201cOkay.\u201d She beamed, excitedly flipping the pages. Bare chests, rippling muscles, and gorgeous smiles flashed by at Mach one.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Lilly grinned. \u201cOn second thought, slow down.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Lilly gulped, praying there wasn\u2019t anything fun<\/i> raised below his belt. Why couldn\u2019t her grandmother act like a normal granny, for crying out loud? <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Her nonna nudged her and jiggled the calendar. Lilly rolled her eyes and then cautiously glanced down. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Oh, God. There was that smile\u2026and, sweet baby Jesus<\/i>. She scanned his beautiful, strong shoulders and down past the adorable chocolate Labrador puppy in Brett\u2019s droolworthy arms, down to his six pack abs, and down. Down to the muscles that formed a v below, leading down, down\u2026 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u201cClose it. I don\u2019t want to see any more.\u201d Thank God Brett kept his pants on. She\u2019d need to take another peek later though, just to be sure. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
