He may not be the undead but he was definitely something.<\/p>\n<p>Sienna sat nestled in her favorite love seat, facing the fire finally relenting, she told him, \u201cBe my guest.\u201d She noted the quick way he surveyed his surroundings when he stepped across the threshold, first the exits-windows, d\u00e9cor than finally his eyes settled upon her. Unwilling to bend to his close scrutiny, she took a sip from her wine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s cozy here, not anything like the resort. May I?\u201d She nodded for him to help himself to her spirits as he took a seat in a cushioned chair. Masculine man, dainty chair taking up space with his mere presence made Drake appear even bigger and stronger than he had in the gazebo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCourage?\u201d she asked him pouring a glass.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRestraint,\u201d Drake answered before holding it up for a toast. \u201cTo good decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood decisions,\u201d she reiterated kissing his glass with hers. A moment was taken to drink and think before he began to press her for answers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s a simple proposition,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs it?\u201d Sienna tightened the shawl she held around her bare arms, the fire made no difference to the temperature of the room; she merely made the fire for\u00a0ambiance\u00a0but now she felt exposed so close to this imposing man. The bright and colorful flames helped with her state of mind as well as the red wine and Mary Shelley book that now lay abandoned on her lap.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou&#8217;re exquisite,\u201d he said matter-of-factly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat didn&#8217;t sound much like a compliment, Mr. Devilin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy aren&#8217;t you married?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA proposal has never come up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find that hard to believe.\u201d In a single gulp, he finished his wine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow old are you, Mr. Devilin?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u201fm thirty six. Please call me Drake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd you&#8217;ve never been married?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His smile was one of a pure blooded playboy. \u201cIt&#8217;s never come up,\u201d he replied with a lopsided smirk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat&#8217;s good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander, I suppose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sienna grabbed the wine bottle and offered him a refill; he gladly accepted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI understand my benefit in this whole crazy scheme but not yours.\u201d He gently pushed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDoes that make you uncomfortable, not knowing?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt makes me question the sanity of this request, Sienna. I don\u2019t believe in one sided deals and I don&#8217;t believe in modern day martyrs.\u201d \u00a0From the intense look in his eyes, she believed what he said.<\/p>\n<p>Agitated by this man&#8217;s closeness and all he would change in her world, she uncurled her feet from beneath her and set them on the floor. The storm beyond her four walls picked up. Sienna crossed to the window to watch the thunder and lightning explode.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;m afraid my answer remains the same.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Review: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Overall, Sweet as Sin was a decent paranormal romance.\u00a0 I do read a lot of these and have a decent knowledge of the genre.\u00a0 It was a generally good book but one with a lot of fatal flaws.\u00a0 I was immediately drawn into the story, but soon there in I got caught up in too many details and a few divergent story lines that didn&#8217;t seem to go anywhere.\u00a0 The characters of Drake and Sienna were very frustrating and cold on both sides.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sure that&#8217;s how they are meant to be but I didn&#8217;t really feel a connection with these characters.\u00a0 I truly believe this book started out well and could have been excellent but unfortunately the story has too many dead ends and becomes a bit difficult to follow.\u00a0 I have to say though the premise is definitely a good one.\u00a0 It is different from any other story I have read lately and was very imaginative.\u00a0 I would definitely recommend reading Kenya Carlton again, but unfortunately for me this book had one too many flaws in the structure of the romance and its characters.\u00a0 If I was rating this book I would give it a 3 out of 5.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d like to thank Kenya Carlton for promoting her book with me today and Bewitching book tours for allowing me to host this stop.\u00a0 For more information about Sweet as Sin you can go to Barnes and Noble, Amazon or any other book retailer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Author Bio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kenya has a B.A. in Mass communication, Television and Radio.
