Review: What's Left of Me by Amanda Maxlyn

Happy Hump Day!  Today I am reviewing a book that will tear you to pieces.  It is heart wrenching in its love and sadness.  The rawness of this story fills all of the pages and will leave you feeling exhausted from the emotional roller coaster.  For my full review of Amanda Maxlyn’s What’s Left of Me keep reading after the book blurb.   I hope all of you are having a great week.

Review:

Cancer has been the story of Aundrea’s life for the past four years.  Between treatments, hospitalizations and doctors her life hasn’t been her own.  As soon as anyone meets her and finds out she has cancer their opinion changes.  That is until she decides to go out with her friend one night.  While out she meets a handsome guy and has a one night stand.  Or that’s what she thought would happen.  Unfortunately, the guy who is her one night stand has recently started working with her brother-in-law and she will be seeing lots of him.  Parker, doesn’t want things to end with Aundrea after one night.  He is bound and determined to change her mind on their relationship.  He knows they share more and wants more.  Aundrea is holding back and is scared.  She just wants Parker to keep seeing her as just a girl and not the girl with cancer.  But, if she can’t get passed this then they will never have a future.  Will Aundrea let love in or will she push away the one great thing in her life out of fear.
This was a fantastically emotional story.  The characters are wonderful and story is well written.  Aundrea and Parker’s love story is one for the ages.  Though it comes with tears and fears the love is felt throughout this book.  I think when any woman reads this book they will want a Parker.  Not to mention the few love scenes they have are quite spicy.  The addition of the love scenes are very much-needed to lighten the mood and give a sense of hope and reality.  The cancer portion of the story is very well researched and portrayed honestly.  This book feels very reminiscent of a Nicholas Sparks or Colleen Hoover book.  You are definitely going to feel like wrung out after reading this book.  It will stay with you way after the last page.  I look forward to Amanda Maxlyn’s next book, What’s Left of Us.
