Yeah it was insensitive and stupid on his part. But, it didn’t matter to me. I really didn’t want him in the first place.”
Terrance stared at her then leaned in and kissed her. It didn’t last nearly long enough when he pulled away from her. Brushing a strand of hair behind her ear he gave her a lopsided smile.
“You’re a woman I could fall in love with.”
Annie blinked numbly at him. How the hell was she supposed to react to that statement? Her mind didn’t have the time process it when Terrance pulled a hat over his buzzed scalp then got out of the car. She jumped out and walked next to him. He linked their hands then kissed them again. The more he did that the more the butterflies in her stomach turned into dragons on speed. They walked like that into the building. A tingling between Annie’s shoulders gave her the impression they were being watched. Before she closed the door to the church she could have sworn she heard a clicking sound
