Happy almost weekend to you! Today I am bringing to you a wonder of a book. This novel has a wonderful humor and truth that I think any woman who has been awkward even once in her life will relate to. Losing It will have you laughing out loud, cringing and swooning all within pages of each other. For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.
Book Blurb:
Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, Bliss Edwards decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible – a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She’d left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.
Review:
Bliss decides tonight is the night. She let’s her friend, Kelsey, talk her into losing her virginity. She just has to find the right guy. The guy who makes her feel like she wants to have sex. After entering the bar, she realizes it is going to be much harder than she thinks. That is until an unassuming guy reading Shakespeare catches her eye. When she meets Garrick she knows he is going to be the one she loses it to. But, after a comedy of awkward errors she finds herself running out of her own apartment, half-dressed, picking up an imaginary cat she doesn’t own and leaving a naked man in her apartment. After waiting an eternity for him to leave she goes back home and hopes she can wipe the night and her fiasco out of her mind. Unfortunately, that is easier said than done when she shows up to her class to find that the man she just saw naked only a few hours in her apartment is now standing in front of her class as her new professor. Both are astonished but still find themselves drawn to each other. Though it’s a dangerous situation and both try to move on it proves to be more challenging than either expects. Can they avoid each other or will they finally accept that no matter what their hearts are drawn to each other and there is no way to avoid it?
I adored this book. Bliss is completely relatable and honest. Her feelings for Garrick are so strong you feel them jump right off the page and effect every word you read. This story really brought me back to my college days. The crazy things we did and the hilarious things that happen when you do dumb things. The feeling of college love and how your heart gets broken even when you desperately try to protect it. Yes, this story makes you feel all of this and you will fall completely in love with Cora Carmack’s characters. Especially the sexy guys and those with British accents included. Cora Carmack has such a talent for making the reader really enter her story. I fell in this story and didn’t want to leave. I eventually reluctantly put the book down only after reading every last word. Overall, any romcom lover will adore this book and quickly become a fan of Cora Carmack. I know she has now gotten a new fan to her fan club in me!
