Hi Everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Today I am bringing to you a wonderful historical romance. This is a Civil War romance that really illustrates the feelings of both the Yankees and the Rebs. Adding the element of romance, creates a story that you don’t want to put down until you are done. For my full review keep reading after the book blurb. Have a great rest of the week and for those of you who get to celebrate Labor Day, I hope you have a great one.

Review:
Tassie has lost everything. With both her parents gone and her brother unaccounted for she must go to Cincinnati to live with her Aunt. The journey is dangerous and along the way she must face Union soldiers, robbers, runaway slaves and sickness. But, she also encounters a family she will fall in love with. Not only the family but the very handsome union soldier that is all too familiar to her. As her life becomes more entwined with this family she must make decisions that could change her world forever and put her in grave danger. Can Tassie survive a world in turmoil and save her own heart or will she lose not only her heart but her soul to a world ravaged by war?
This was a fantastic historical romance. I loved Tassie. Her place in a world that didn’t allow for young women on their own was refreshing. She was strong-willed and independent at a time when that as a liability instead of a strength. Her story is woven so seamlessly with the history going on around her. When she falls in love, like all women in her time, she feels it can be forever, but the challenges she faces seem insurmountable. Her character is so relatable even though it is another time. Many women today would have made some of the same choices she makes with a lot more resources than what she has in this era. Overall, Mary Eleanor Wilson writes an unforgettable story about history, love and strength. The strength it takes to love at all costs, the strength it takes to stand by your convictions when you’re the only one and the strength to be yourself in a dangerous world.
