I’d like to welcome L.M Pruitt today. She is promoting the second book in her Jude Magdalyn series, Shades of Desire. This second installment is such a great addition to this series. Be sure to check out my review after the awesome interview from L.M Pruitt.
Thank you for stopping by today. I really enjoyed Shades of Desire and I adore the Jude Magdalyn Series.
How did you come up with the idea Covenant?
I wanted a group that would be open to different kinds of magic, to different ways of interacting with supernatural elements. I’ve read a lot of books where a main character was either this or that, a group was either this or that. I wanted there to be a blending, a flexibility to allow for different situations.
I loved both Williams and Theo. Was it a difficult choice for you between the two for who Jude would fall for?
Initially, yes. I didn’t anticipate it to happen quite so soon, I thought the relationships would play out over more books. But in the end, it was the right choice.
I know this is only book two in your series, but will we see Jude grow even more powerful and develop more powers?
Possibly. Maybe. We’ll have to see, lol.
I love the angst between Rian and Elizabeth. Will we finally get a resolution with them? And will the yellow dress finally be clarified for the two of them?
Yes and yes. And I can tell you to read Shades of Blood—all will be revealed, lol.
I know you may not be able to tell me this but with the appearance of Dani at the end of the book and dhampir’s come to light will there be any question about the bumps’ daddy?
Yes. And again, all will be revealed in Shades of Blood, lol.
Out of all the awesome characters in your two Jude Magdalyn books who would you say is your favorite and who is your least favorite?
Wow. I can honestly say I have no idea. I really do enjoy all of my characters even the bad guys. If I had to pick, I would say favorite is Jude (obviously). Least favorite? Maybe Rosalind.
Do you fashion your writing after any particular authors? If so, what attracts you to those authors?
No. When I first started writing, I tried to imitate the voice of chick lit and romance writers and found it didn’t work for me at all. So when I switched to urban fantasy/paranormal romance, I said, “Screw it, I’m going to write how I write.” So far it seems to be working out, lol.
Ok…now I am gonna ask you just a couple fun/silly questions. Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Ice cream. Popsicles. Taylor Swift’s music.
Can you share with me three things that not many people know about you?
I fell off my bed until I was 20. I have also fallen up flights of stairs, not down. And I’m terrified of heights.
What is your ultimate dream as a writer?
To be able to support myself while sharing my stories with the world.
Do you do anything unique while writing?
No, not really. Sometimes I sing to whatever song is playing on my iTunes DJ, but that’s about it.
Finally, If you could meet one fictional character whether from your series or another author’s books who would that be and why?
Ryodan from Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series. And I’m not telling you why, lol.
Thank you again for stopping by and I really look forward to reading Shades of Blood.

All I wanted was a little peace and quiet.
Instead, I’ve got dead Covenant members and a steady stream of letters from the new guy in town. His beverage of choice? A 2002 Merlot, with a shot or two of powerful virgin blood.
On top of that, I’m breaking in a new police liaison, failing at playing matchmaker, and fighting nausea like it’s a full time job. All I wanted was a little peace and quiet.

Did I forget to mention that I’ve also got enough girls living at the Crossroads to start my own boarding school?
Peace and quiet? Out the window.

Review:
This was a phenomenal follow-up to Shades of Gray. I am growing more and more attached to this group of characters. The story is a great continuation of the first in the series. Jude and her whole crew are unique but also very relatable. There were even parts of this book that I laughed out loud. The interactions between the adults and the slew of teenagers was also so realistic I could actually place myself there. I loved the on going drama between Rian and Elizabeth was so good I can’t wait to find out if they will finally end up together. Overall the story, characters and dialogue have grown and draw you in even more to see what will happen next. I can’t wait to read the next in her series, Shades of Blood.
I’d like to thank L.M Pruitt for stopping by today and Bewitching book tours for giving me this opportunity to host this tour stop.
