Hi Maven, and thanks for having me as a guest on your blog today. I’d like to share with everyone my list of This or That. I hope you all have some fun reading it, and maybe thinking about your own answers.
Black or White?
I’m a bit of both, actually. When it comes to my clothing, most of my tops are black or white. I’m a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl, so I usually go for something that has a funky print. For instance, at the moment I’m wearing a white T-shirt with a rainbow Mickey Mouse on the front. I’m quirky like that.
Cats or Dogs?
I’m definitely a cat person. Unfortunately, I can’t have one as my husband is allergic to them. He’s so bad that when we moved in together, I had to give my cat away to my parents. We now have a rabbit instead. I can tolerate dogs if they aren’t all jumpy and in your face. My parents have a beautiful border collie and I love him, but he can stay at their place.
Coke or Pepsi?
Definitely Coke – Pepsi doesn’t quite taste right. I used to be quite addicted to Coke. I was drinking at least a can a day, but I managed to stop that and now only have it once in a while. It’s so bad for you, but it tastes so good!
TV or Movies
I like both, but I lean more towards movies. I don’t sit down and watch TV just for the sake of it. There has to be something on that I really want to watch. If the TV is on my husband is usually flicking channels, so I use the time to read instead. Although, I would drop everything to watch Buffy—I could watch that nonstop on a continuous loop for days, even weeks, which is possible as I have them all on DVD.
Harry Potter or Twilight
I would have to say both with this one, too. But Harry Potter would come first. I fell in love with the boy wizard long before Edward Cullen was on the scene, and I adore J. K. Rowling’s writing. Twilight has a place in my heart as well as I love the story. I think both of them are so different from each other that it’s not really all that fair to compare them. They are from entirely different worlds, and each deserves its own podium to stand on.
Hot or Cold?
I really hate the cold. I’m a warm weather person and love getting around in singlet tops and thongs. I am an Aussie! We don’t get very cold winters in Sydney compared to other parts of the world—we definitely don’t get snow where I am—but I still struggle through the winter months. I hate it when you have to get all rugged up, and then you run somewhere and get all hot and sweaty, then you freeze because the cold makes your sweat colder. Yuck!
Introvert or Extrovert?
I’m somewhere in the middle. When I’m with my close friends I can be pretty out there. They know I’m a bit weird and crazy, and I’m comfortable with them so I can just be myself. But when I’m around strangers, or meeting someone for the first time, I get nervous and sometimes want to run and hide. I also have a tendency to say stupid things, so a lot of people think I’m a nut bag.
City or Country?
Well, I sort of live in the city. I’m out in the suburbs on the edge of what’s considered metro Sydney, so it’s nice and green and leafy. No high-rise. But, my parents live in the ‘real’ country, and every time I go there I don’t want to leave. I much prefer the wide open space and clean air of the country side, than the noise and dirt of Sydney. In saying that though, I love visiting the city every now and then, but I could never live there.
Print or eBook?
Up until recently I would have said print only. I love the way a book feels in my hands, the smell of the paper and the act of turning the page. I also love to stand and stare at my bookcase, and I quite often take a book down just to look at the beautiful cover. Then I got an iPad for my birthday last year and I discovered the ease of an eBook. I think each has a place and a different purpose, so I’m all for both now.

“Angels aren’t supposed to fall in love, especially with each other. But for the record, you were worth it.”
Grace Tate is a Protection Angel and Vampire Hunter, and she has always followed the rules. But some rules are made to be broken…
Until now the fight against evil has been simple, and falling in love was never part of the plan. So what happens when it’s beyond Grace’s control, and when she least expects it she falls for the wrong person?
All hell breaks loose, that’s what.
At Hopetown Valley High, not everything is as it seems, and the one person Grace thought was her enemy becomes her most important ally.
Blood will be shed, lives will be lost and friendships will be tested. It all comes down to one decision, and when Grace tries to save all those dear to her, she realises not everyone can be—or wants to be—saved.
Review:
Fall for Me was a wonderfully inventive Young Adult book. The book’s concept is a great mix of paranormal and romance. Grace’s turmoil over the choices she has to make take teenage angst to a whole other level. Who would have thought that first love could be so life changing. In this case its life altering. I really enjoyed the love story between the different couples, Josh and Grace, Ryan and Emma, Grace and Seth and Archer and Charlotte. What complicates the love story more so than any normal teenage complication is the addition of angels, vampires and vampire hunters. K.A Last does a phenomenal job weaving a great story with memorable characters. After finishing the book I can’t wait for the next. When reading this book be sure to be ready for some heart-break that we can only hope will be resolved in the next book.
