Today I am featuring L.J Kentowski’s Seeker of Fate. This is the second book in her Fate Series. I have read and reviewed the first book in the series also, Guardian of Fate. You can check out that review here. But, today I am featuring the excellent follow-up in this series. Seeker of Fate has everything you want in a good paranormal romance. You have intrigue, romance, steamy scenes and of course paranormal creatures that can give you the willies for days. Be sure to check out the rest of my review after the book blurb.

Created from the angels, Guardians don’t belong in Hell. But Cassandra Cosgrove is no ordinary Guardian, and she’s determined to get into Hell despite the blood that runs through her veins.
With a new resolve, and newly developed powers, she sets out on a journey into Hell to save a loved one from the tortuous hands of the King of the Underworld. But to get in, she must befriend a past enemy, and quickly learns that this is only the first sacrifice she must make to succeed.
When Hell welcomes her with open arms, and a deal with the Devil seems the only way to save the men she loves from an eternity of torture, will Cassandra make the ultimate sacrifice by giving up her soul completely? Will the man she loves let her?
Review:
When L.J asked me if I wanted to review her next book in the Fate series I was so excited. I emailed her right away so that I could read it and feature her on one of my Fridays. I know that following up on a first book that blew the socks off of many reviewers (including myself) is nerve-wracking. There are expectations that the book needs to be bigger and better. Sometimes a novelist will start to incorporate things that aren’t necessary like a third cousin with a God complex or a great Aunt Sophie who can turn men into frogs. These additions would be great if they are pertinent to a story but for most needless additions like the ones I mentioned are just a lot of fluff that goes no where. L.J manages to stay away from all of these traps and expounds upon the already phenomenal characters and premise of the series. I was ecstatic to see that with this book we delve even deeper into Cassie, Hunter, Caleb and even learn more about Eric and Nora.
In Seeker of Fate, we rejoin Cassie after having learned where her father has been all her life and is determined to get him out of Sheol. She tries to convince herself that she is only going to go into Hell to retrieve her father and that is all. But, Hunter’s sacrifice and torture torments her and she can’t really drop her feelings for him no matter how much Caleb tries to convince her. Caleb agrees to help her retrieve her father, but will only do so if she agrees to leave Hunter in Hell and begin to live her life that (hopefully) includes Caleb. After planning on how to enter Hell and retrieve her father, Cassie learns that she is being tricked and after another shock she is forced to improvise after finding herself in Hell. Her life in Hell opens her up to her emerging powers and she must try to fight her demon side and retain her angelic heart. Cassie has the fight of her life to protect her love, her family and herself all the while trying to walk the fine line between good and evil.
I would recommend if you want to read this to read Guardian of Fate first. That is the first in the Fate series. In that book you initially meet all of the characters in Seeker of Fate. Believe me when I say you will not be disappointed and you will find yourself diving for Seeker of Fate after you read Guardian of Fate. I personally can’t wait for the third book. The excellent writing skill and fantastic character building by L.J Kentowski drives this story and leaves you wanting more of Hunter, Cassie and Caleb. The story smoothly transitions and progresses nicely while also bringing in elements from the previous book. I can honestly say I was dragged into Sheol with Cassie and chained to the pillars right next to her. This story will chain you up and leave you there just waiting for the next one. Fortunately, L.J is also working on another Paranormal Romance series called Descended Divinity which after reading the first chapter will be the next great read from L.J Kentowski. If you are a fan of angels, demons and the eternal battle between good and evil you will love the Fate and especially the second book in the series Seeker of Fate.
