Today I am reviewing Warrior Lord by Nancy J. Cohen. This is the third book in her Drift Lords series. Though this is the third book in the series it felt like it could be read as a standalone book. It’s a fast paced book that when you finally do turn that last page. Be sure to keep reading after the book blurb for my full review.
Book Blurb:
Pottery sculptor Erika Sherwood has no idea her televised wedding in Las Vegas is for real until an official confirms she and the stranger she’s just met are legitimately wed.
A Drift Lord and warrior of the Tsuran, Magnor tricks the redhead into marriage because she’s one of six women prophesied to save Earth. But as he’s forced into her company in their race against the apocalypse, he wonders if he risks his heart more than his life.
Can a free-spirited ceramic artist and a fierce swordsman trust each other enough to prevent disaster?
Review:
Erika finds herself sitting at a gambling table when she notices an extremely handsome man dressed in strange clothing. When their eyes meet she can’t pull her gaze away from him and he strides over to her taking the seat next to her. It is this chance meeting that will change her life forever. Her handsome stranger soon persuades her into entering a contest that leads to them getting married. Erika believes this is all for show, but when she finds out it was real she is shocked. Soon she forces her handsome new husband, Magnor, to tell her the truth. The truth is almost unbelievable until she sees the strange things with her own eyes. Erika soon finds herself jumping off roofs, traveling across the world in a blink of an eye and learning she has strange powers over the earth. In a situation so dyer can this woman and man come together and leave their past behind or will things crumble?
I loved their love story. I really felt connected to these characters. The story is quick-moving and really keeps you entertained. The only complaint I had would be that they had too many adventures and obstacles to over come for one book. It felt like the story could have wrapped up naturally in a few different places. That being said it was still quite entertaining and draws you. This is a book you can read as a stand alone but I personally want to go back and read the other stories in this series. I think it would add depth to the series and give me a complete look at all the characters. Overall, this is an entertaining read and definitely will leave you satisfied.
Thanks so much for your wonderful review. I will spread the word
