Today, I get to bring to you the first book in the newest trilogy by K.A Linde. She has truly outdone herself with this first book. If you love sexy billionaire philosophy professors you will love this book. For my full review, keep reading after the book blurb.
Book Blurb:
She was supposed to be a one night stand.
A way to sate my sexual appetite.
I let her glimpse the man I am. The face that I hide behind my carefully cultivated life. But she ripped open that divide—and there’s no going back.
Now, she’s here. In my city.
I don’t care that I’m Manhattan royalty and she’s the help.
Only that she’s living in my summer home. With me.
And I want more.
Review:
Natalie’s job takes her to different places. She is a vacation house sitter for the wealthy. Taking the job in the Hampton’s doesn’t seem to be any different. That is until she sees the one man she never wanted to see again. Penn doesn’t recognize Natalie at first. He does however, appreciate the beautiful naked woman in front of him. This awkward reunion only gets worse when his wealthy friends are in the house waiting for him. Natalie finds herself feeling surprisingly comfortable with these people who grew up rich and are still rich. But, when a bet is made and truth becomes a gray area Penn and Natalie’s relationship will crumble. Will Natalie and Penn find a way to fight through or will things break irrevocably?
This book takes place 6 years after the prequel One Cruel Night. You don’t have to read this before reading Cruel Money, but I would recommend it. It is currently free to read. One Cruel Night introduces us to Natalie and Penn. You get a little insight into why Natalie feels the way she does. That being said, Cruel Money, launches the complex relationship of Penn, Natalie and his “crew”. Early on you know what the major sticking point with Penn and Natalie will be. It truly isn’t a surprise. That being said the drama and emotional turmoil the reader goes through with them is incredible. If you have seen the movie Cruel Intentions this will feel familiar. It has a lot of echos of that movie. Natalie and Penn are fantastic complex characters. Penn’s crew adds the drama and the dynamics between the ultra rich and the normal person. This book will leave you begging for the next in this trilogy. If you like drama, emotion and dynamic characters then you will love this new trilogy by K.A Linde.
