Book Description:
He was left behind when Elora Laiken made her choice. Now he’s had it with love, but a transplanted witch who happens to be the world’s best tracker hopes she can change his mind.
The Witch’s Dream begins with B Team on loan for temporary assignment to Black Swan headquarters in Edinburgh where they are supposed to fill in for stretched-thin resources and assist with a werewolf issue. They’ve been given permission to stop in Ireland for a few days and help Ram and Elora celebrate their handfasting at the palace in Derry.
When they reach Edinburgh, the afterglow of an elftale wedding quickly turns all business. A missing person report turns into a demon abduction. A simple werewolf sanction becomes a diplomatic issue requiring the one thing Elora is no longer willing to give – finesse.
From New York to Ireland to Edinburgh to Siena to the Texas Hill Country to Napa Valley. From promises to rages to hunts to epiphanies, emotions intersect to prove that true love can find you when you’re least expecting it – even when you’re far, far from home.
Erotic quotient: Some steamy scenes. No ménage. No BDSM.
Review:
The Witch’s Dream is the second book in Victoria Danann’s The Order of the Black Swan series. This was an awesome follow-up to My Familiar Stranger. I think this book was done the way a lot of other follow-ups should be done. It takes place right after the first book. Its like the story didn’t have any kind of pause. This story does focus more on Storm and his HEA with Litha. Storm’s heartache over Elora and Ram’s handfasting soon ebbs after meeting Litha. I loved Litha’s character. She was very determined and definitely the perfect fit for Storm. Even though it focuses on Storm and Litha, Elora and Ram still have very prominent parts. Though the focus of the main story shifts we are still getting concurrent and continuing story of Elora and Ram. This is rarely done and I loved this tremendously. I also enjoyed the addition of other outside characters like Ram’s sister Alesong and Kay’s sisters. It felt like love was in the air with this book. I was hoping for HEA everywhere. Not to mention one of the first steamy sex scenes takes place completely in a dream. Overall, this was an awesome second book and I can’t wait for the next one. I whole-heartedly recommend reading this book, but I would suggest reading My Familiar Stranger first.
I’d like to thank Victoria Danann for giving me the chance to review this book and ABG Reads Book Tours for scheduling me this stop. For more information about The Order of the Black Swan Trilogy/My Familiar Stranger/The Witch’s Dream you can go to Barnes and Noble, Amazon or any other book retailer.
Though works of fiction are a departure for me, I have had this series simmering on the back burner of my mind for a few years. In addition to authoring and illustrating Seasons of the Witch (for the past thirteen years) I play Classic Rock music and manage one of Houston’s premier R&B bands.
This series includes some of my education in the paranormal and fictionalized anecdotes from my journals during the years when I was a practicing “metaphysician”, but, of course, most of the material is fantasy. All of the books will feature strong female leads with strong male support.
I loved book 2 of the order of the black swan series. I cant wait for book 3 the summoner’s tale…i cant seem to find it at amazon.com can anyone help me with this please??
Ann-Mari I spoke to Victoria and she said Summoner’s Tale will be available on Valentine’s day. I hope that helps. 🙂
