Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome to the All You Need is Love Blog Hop!
Now a days romance stories are huge. Whether outlandish or something you can see yourself involved in. So, to pick a favorite love story is very hard. There are the favorite’s that are popular today like Kellan and Kiera (Thoughless Series), Travis and Abby (Beautiful Disaster), Lake and Will (Slammed Series), Gideon and Eva (Crossfire Series) and Christian and Anna (Fifty Shades Series). There are also the classics like Mr. Darcy and Elisabeth Bennett, Heathcliff and Catherine and Gatsby and Daisy. I could go on and on with favorite fictional character’s love stories. But, I would have to say my favorite love story is one I read recently.
John and Ann Betar are the longest married couple in the United States. They have been married for 80 yrs. They weren’t actually supposed to get married. Ann fled an arranged marriage and eloped with John. They were neighbors and grew up together. They fell in love during the trips of John driving Ann to school. When I read this story I thought that in today’s day and age that kind of happy ending is rarely non-fiction. That is probably why we read these happily ever after stories. On a day where we celebrate love and love stories I am finding that the true one’s are the best and give us the greatest hope for that great love.

I saw this couple mentioned on the View last week but they didn’t mention the part about how they eloped. I think that makes the story even more special. Thank you for sharing the details.
Cute, I love that story. Real love stories are pretty amazing and sometimes better than fiction!
Wow! 80 years? How cool.
So right now, theirs is my favorite. 🙂
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO YOU!!! Muah! Lots of love, Emily 🙂
I love seeing the lucky people that are holding hands in their eighties especially in little breakfast diners. So cute and sweet! It isn’t everyone that lasts that long either physically or emotionally. It is beautiful!
Thanks for the awesome giveaway and great article on John and Ann! I love seeing older couples who have been married for a long time, I remember my grandpa still pinching my grandma’s butt as a joke when they were in their seventies and i loved that they still had their love and humor after all these years. My favorite love story is when one of them helps the other one overcome an obstacale and fall in love while helping each other (think tourtured hero love stories)!

My favorite love story is actually a true one! My boyfriends mother and step-father are the cutest couple I have ever seen. They are both on their second marriage (and last) with each other. They met in their 30’s and were married. They are now close to 80 and every bit in love as they were back in the day, if not more. She gets up every morning to make him breakfast and he still grabs her butt on every occasion he can get. It is so sweet to see them together and gives me hope for real life romance.
Thanks for the great giveaway,
Marlena

I think my favorite is Darcy and Elizabeth, they make things work even if both of them are head-strong and they have different upbringings and social status.

I really like Cat and Bones from Jeanienne Frost’s night huntress series. They are both strong, but still rely on each other.
