I am so excited to be sharing with you another book by Jerrie Alexander. I have truly adored reading her books and have really seen her develop into a phenomenal writer. No Chance in Hell is her newest in her Lost and Found Inc series. I have truly learned to love the Wolfe’s Pack and will miss them when this series is done. For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.
Book Blurb:
After a drunk driver killed Marcus Ricci’s wife while he was deployed in Afghanistan, he closed up emotionally. Working at Lost and Found, Inc., he lands a puzzling case with too many missing pieces. A killer is closing in on the woman Marcus is supposed to protect. Guarding the beautiful Chris is his job—and he’s one of the best—but keeping her close without letting her inside, makes it hard to protect his heart.
A murderer took the only family Chris Holland had left. When her sister’s killer comes after Chris, she turns to the Lost and Found agency for help. As she and Marcus Ricci dig into her background, they’ll discover surprises that shake everything she believes to be true about her past.
Forced together day and night, passion ignites, and Chris falls for Marcus. He’s a loner and not interested in a permanent relationship. When her case is over, he’ll go back to his solitary life. Just a man and his dog.
Review:
Marcus has always been the quiet and stoic one of Lost and Found Inc. Always unapproachable since his wife died while Marcus was in Afghanistan. That is until Chris Holland comes into his life. Chris is being stalked by her sisters killer. At first Marcus treats Chris like every other client. That is until he realizes what kind of woman she is and the tragedy of her past that weighs so heavily on her. As threats become more pronounced and dangerous, Marcus draws closer to Chris than he should. He knows that the killer will kill him to get to her and is willing to risk it all to keep her safe. Soon Marcus and Chris realize there is no more fighting of their feelings for one another and passions swell within the danger. When the killer finally makes his move will Marcus be able to save Chris or will he lose more than just his heart this time?
I LOVED this story. I couldn’t wait for Marcus’ story anyway. He has always been a bit of an enigma in this series and I was happy to see how this story illuminated his character. Marcus and Chris were great characters for one another. I thought that they brought out the best in each other and learned to grow. The story itself is also a wonderful one. The suspense and intricacies of the two killers and how they are associated to Chris was a cool psychological ride that was uniquely written as only Jerrie Alexander can. Thus far this has been my favorite in this series. With the story entangled with romance, suspense and psychological thriller it definitely has it all. This would be a perfect Criminal Minds episode. Jerrie Alexander has truly done it again. If you haven’t read any of her books you are missing out. I have read them all and can’t for Jake’s story next. If you’re looking for something thrilling with some romance thrown in then you need to pick up Jerrie Alexander’s Lost and Found Inc series. You won’t want to put it down.
Thank you for reading and reviewing No Chance in Hell! I’m thrilled you enjoyed the story. Marcus, Chris, and of course, Diablo were great fun to write and it’s rewarding to know I hit the mark with them.
Great review, Book Maven!! I love this series AND Jerrie :). Diablo is a key character here and that dog has stolen my heart right along with Marcus. SO looking forward to what Jerrie has in store for Jake!!!
