cce0021a57d6e89179f19510840bebc0Happy Memorial Day those of you celebrating.  For the rest of you Happy Monday!  Today I am spotlighting a book by Cynthia Woolf called Redeemed by a Rebel.  This is great historical romance with a little spice added in.  If you want some fireworks to start off your week then you definitely will want to pick up Redeemed by a Rebel.  As always for my full review keep reading after the book blurb.  I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

20795188Book Blurb:

Jake Anderson killed a man defending his fiancee from a brutal attack, but lost her and his freedom in the process. Now he’s on the run, hunted by one of her murderers and tormented by the need for vengeance. Becky Finnegan will do anything to escape her drunken father’s fists, including slave away at their mine. Her only hope is to strike gold and make a new life for herself somewhere far, far away from Deadwood. But then Jake arrives and does the unthinkable…forces her to feel, to hope…and to love. Jake would give his life to protect Becky, but all he can offer her is a broken heart, a criminal’s life, and a past haunted by failure. How can he save her when he’s already lost himself? When the devil catches up to him, will he destroy everything, or can the beautiful rebel redeem Jake’s lost soul?

Review:

Jake and his brother Zack find themselves on their brother’s doorstep running from the law.  In that moment, Liam Anderson realizes he will be bringing two more people with him to his gold mine in Deadwood.  Meanwhile, in Deadwood Becky Finnegan works her fingers in her father’s claim only to fuel his alcoholic nature.  Little by little she saves until the day she will one day be free.  This all changes when she meets the handsome Anderson brothers.  But, only one in particular calls to her.  Jake immediately feels a protective need towards Becky.  This is only solidified when he meets her abusive father.  He realizes he can’t let Becky alone and the more time he spends with her the more he realizes it’s not just to protect her.  Unfortunately, Becky is used to taking care of herself and isn’t that receptive to Jake’s need to protect and care for her.  Quickly things change when bounty hunters seek Jake and Becky’s father tries to sell her to another miner.  Can one impetuous decision make for a happy ending or will their fates be ripped apart by those who mean harm?
I really enjoyed this novel.  It was a fun historical read.  Who doesn’t like three good-looking men who only want to protect and care for you?  I know I don’t mind reading about those kinds of heroes.  I really loved Becky and Jake.  I felt like they were relatable characters.  I also loved those supporting characters like Zack, Liam, Hannah and David.  I definitely feel like there is a future for these Anderson brothers.  I’d love to see Zack and Liam find their happily ever afters also.  Overall, this was a great historical romance and I would recommend it for anyone who likes a good western romance too.
