Today I am reviewing for you guys a romantic, sexual romp in the boxing ring. Real by Katy Evans has been on my TBR list for a while. I finally got around to it and I was not disappointed. We have a complex, tormented hero who falls for the caring and selfless heroine. Who wouldn’t love a story like that. For my full review keep reading after the book blurb. I hope all of you are having a great week.
Book Blurb:
A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…
He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…
Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.
He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .
But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.
I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.
If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?
Review:
Remington Tate is the best underground boxer there is. He’s ruthless, powerful and has the power to make any woman swoon. This was what Brooke Dumas was told by her best friend. It isn’t until she sees him in action and makes eye contact with him that she believes her. Soon Brooke finds herself employed by Remi. Disappointment soon grows into an obsession and she can’t seem to pry herself away from him. The attraction is mutual and as it gets even stronger she realizes that she wants him no matter his faults. But, when Brooke makes a decision to help her sister this one decision could tear them apart and destroy their relationship forever. Can Brooke and Remi find equal ground or will they lose everything with misunderstandings and hurt?
I really loved this book. It was just what I needed. It had some steamy sex scenes. Great characters who you want to know more about. A unique and entertaining story that will stay with you until you pick up the next book in the series. Remington Tate is one of the most complex, sexy and real characters that I have read in a while. He is tormented by something very real and with that aspect of his character you really feel connected to him. The story is unique and well written. The content is well thought out and portrayed accurately. Overall, this was a great book with memorable characters, story and steamy scenes. I know I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book, Mine.
