Another Colleen Hoover and another book I couldn’t put down. This woman really knows how to write. Confess is another great addition to all of the Colleen Hoover books I own. This love story between two people who have too many secrets will have you believing in fate and the ability to love more than one person. If you love Colleen Hoover like I do you will definitely not be disappointed. For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.
Book Blurb:
Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.
For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.
The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…
Review:
Auburn is new to Dallas and feels she is in a bit deep when she sees a help wanted sign at an art studio. Once she hears about the artist, the pay and what she has to do she knows she can’t pass up this opportunity. Owen remembers Auburn the moment she asks about the job. Though they never talked he knew her when he heard her speak. He had always hoped she would walk into his world. When Auburn spends more time with Owen she realizes that he is a lot more than he seems and that he has lots of secrets. Thats ok with her because she has her own share. Secrets have the ability to tear you apart, but the confessions can break your heart. Can Owen and Auburn overcome their secrets or will it destroy everything they love?
I adored Auburn and Owen. I found myself really drawn into their intricate stories. As the layers were peeled back you really saw the heart of their story and that you knew if they didn’t end up together you would be as heartbroken as they would be. But, I am not one to give away an ending so you will just have to read the book to find out. I thought the use of the confessions for the themes of Owen’s paintings very clever and really made it a unique theme throughout the book. I don’t Auburn truly got the idea of an anonymous confession though. Its ok I still loved her. I will say this there are a few predictable parts of this story but just when I felt I had everything nailed down then came a twist I wasn’t fully expecting. Overall, it is another great win for Colleen Hoover. I never regret picking up her books but I am always sad when I finish them and have to put them down.
