Review: Sweet Reckoning (The Sweet Triolgy #3) by Wendy Higgins

Posted on July 22, 2015 by Jackie Paxson

Happy Wednesday!  Today I am bringing to you the last in The Sweet Trilogy, Sweet Reckoning.  We will finally get to see what happens to the allied Nephilim.  When the Dukes really decide that Anna is a threat and her father is possibly a traitor then all stops are pulled and they throw many Nephilim her way to try to discover her secrets.  For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.

16007855Book Blurb:

It’s time.
Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.
The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.
In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

Review:

Its time for the end.  It will either be Anna and her Nephilim allies or the Dukes.  Sides will be chosen and choices will be made.  The Dukes will send out the worst of the Nephilim to hurt Anna.  The only thing saving the others are that their focus is strictly on Anna and her father.  Soon, even Kaiden, is forced to work against her to continue the ruse that they have been using.  In the end some hearts will be broken and decisions that will change everything will be made.  It is the time a reckoning.  Which side will win?
This is the ultimate ending to this phenomenal series.  I had tears and cheers.  Characters you fall in love with will fall and you find your self crying out Why!  All of that aside, those are why this is one of the best endings of a series.  It wraps up what needed to be wrapped up along with some twists and turns that you don’t expect.  With the happiness of Anna and Kaiden comes sadness with other characters.  The world that Wendy Higgins created was one that I was truly sad to leave.  I wanted to know more about other characters and more about what happens next.  But, with all good series’ you will always be left that way.  I didn’t want to let go of Anna and Kaiden but in the end my heart was so full of them that it felt good to see the ending/beginning of their story.  All around this was a phenomenal book and story.  If my other two reviews haven’t encouraged you to snap this up then I hope this one has convinced you.  You are truly missing out not stepping into this world.

I love books that make you genuinely sad when they end. It happens quite rarely for me, but it’s wonderful when it does!
