Today I bring to you a special review for one of my favorite British authors, Linn B. Halton. A Little Sugar, A Lot of Love is a sweet story of cakes, love and karma. This highly entertaining read will have you turning the pages faster and faster to see what happens next. For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.
Book Blurb:
Life isn’t all love and cupcakes …
Katie has had her fair share of bad luck, but when she finally realises her dream of opening a bakery it seems things can only get better.
But the reality of running a business hits Katie hard and whilst her partner, Steve, tries to help she begins to sense that the situation is driving them further apart. Could Katie be set to lose her relationship and her dream job?
Then, one winter’s day, a man walks into her shop – and, in the space of that moment, the course of Katie’s life is changed.
But nobody finds happiness in the blink of an eye. Sometimes it takes two Christmases, three birthdays and a whole lot of cake to get there …

Review:
When a soaked, chilled man comes walking into Katie’s bakery she never imagines how this will change her life. Katie already has a life she thinks she wants. Though as Adam continues to appear in her life she finds her perspective of her life and her bakery changes. It isn’t just Katie who is changed by this clandestine meeting. Adam cannot get her out of his mind. Can they find a way to make things work or will their love float away with the changing of the seasons?
This was an absolutely adorable book. You could feel the love pouring off the pages whenever Katie and Adam were together. The reader finds themselves wanting to get Adam and Katie together. As their trials continue to happen you keep rooting for them. It isn’t just Katie and Adam who make this story though. His Grandma Grace, his daughter, Lily and Katie’s friend, Hazel add a wonderful dynamic that helps get the characters to where they need to go. This love story is definitely one for the books. You will find yourself lost in their worlds and wonder where they have been all your life. If you haven’t read a Linn B. Halton book this is an excellent one to start with. You will understand why she is one of my favorite Brit authors.
