Review: Cloaked in Secrecy by T.F Walsh

Posted on May 30, 2016 by Jackie Paxson

Happy Memorial Day to all those celebrating! Happy Monday for all those who aren’t!  Today I have the second book in T.F Walsh’s The Wulfkin Legacy series.  This installment circles around a threat to Daciana’s pack by the Bulgarian pack that is a traveling circus.  Enre meets, the daughter of the alpha, Alena and realizes what should have been easy has now become very complicated.  This was definitely a fantastic addition to this series and I can’t wait to read the next one.  For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.  Have a great week ahead!

28925427Book Blurb:

Death has followed Alena Novac’s circus family for years. When the police arrest her brother for a murder he didn’t commit, she has only a week to rescue him before he transforms into his wolf form in prison and exposes their wulfkin existence to the world.
Enre Ulf, a former member of the Varlac, the fearsome ruling wulfkin clan, plans to infiltrate Alena’s circus clan and take out their alpha to save his home in Transylvania. Except he never expected his wolf claiming Alena as his mate, or feeling compelled to save her brother to help protect the secrets of the wulfkin.
With the police closing in and the blood feud threatening them, Alena and Enre must overcome their pasts to save their packs’ futures.

Review:

Enre must investigate the pack that is threatening his own, but when he stumbles upon the alpha’s daughter and her brother with a dead body he realizes there is more going on than just a threat of war.  Alena doesn’t trust the stranger that saved her from getting arrested but allowed her brother to get arrested.  She is drawn to him but when she finds out who he really is she becomes suspicious of why he is really here.  Both Enre and Alena have a short time table to save themselves and their packs, but will they also allow themselves to fall for each other?
This was a wonderfully suspenseful second book.  Jumping outside of Daciana story and following takes a reader a bit to put their connections together unless you have read the first book recently.  That being said this can definitely be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the first book so you have a bit of wulfkin background.  Enre and Alena were a great story.  They were both strong characters that helped the story flow.  Their individual stories gave them depth and in turn made the story all that better.  I really enjoyed that they put this story in a traveling circus.  There is a mystery around a circus that naturally allowed for the suspense to build.  Overall, this was a great story that really draws the reader in.  I truly can’t wait for T.F Walsh’s next in this series.
