Review: Miss Fix-It by Emma Hart

Posted on October 31, 2017 by Jackie Paxson

Happy Tuesday!  Happy Halloween!  Today I get to bring to you the newest great novel by Emma Hart.  I guarantee if you’ve never read her books you will become an instant fan.  For my full review keep reading after the book blurb.  Have a great trick or treat.  Hope you have more treats than tricks!

36157849Book Blurb:

One handywoman.
One single dad.
One set of twins.
And the wall isn’t the only thing being drilled…
I learned the hard way that being a handywoman isn’t easy. The questions, the stares—the assumption I’m the proud owner of a cock and balls. Not that it matters. I’ve proven over and over that I’m ready for anything the judgmental asses throw at me.
Except the hot, single dad of twins who just moved to town.
Brantley Cooper gets the shock of his life when I show up on his doorstep to fix up his kids’ new rooms. His son is confused why ‘the pretty lady has a drill,’ and his daughter has a new obsession—me.
On paper, my job is easy. Go in, do their bedrooms, and leave.
In theory, I’m spending eight hours a day with a guarded, sexy as hell guy, and I’m staying for dinner more often than I’m eating it alone, on my couch, with Friends re-runs.
I shouldn’t be staying for dinner. I shouldn’t be helping him out with the twins. I shouldn’t be falling in love with tiny toes and dimpled cheeks.
And I most definitely should not be kissing my client.
Oops…
MISS FIX-IT is a brand-new, standalone romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, who brought you BEING BROOKE and CATCHING CARLY.

Review:

Kali is used to surprising people.  She gets a lot of joy out of it seeing their faces when they open the door expecting a man and seeing their handy-man is actually a handy-woman.  What she doesn’t expect is when the most recent door opens to find the new sexy single dad.  Taking on the job of fixing up his twins rooms seems like it will be like every other job.  As time goes on Kali starts to question her feelings of her future and what it would like to have a family.  Can she over come her fears or will possibly the best things happening to her float away?

I adored this book.  Kali and Brant are off the wall sexy and funny together.  They are probably two of the most real characters I’ve read in a long time.  I think one of the greatest people in this book are Brant’s twins, Eli and Elle.  They are the epitome of four year olds.  They have all the hallmarks with the ability to say anything and ask anything.  This love story with the wonderfully strong heroine.  A great example of being anything you want to be.  The back and forth between Kali and Brant is so fun.  It truly felt like a natural couple.  Their characters are definitely memorable even if its for the way they bluntly say things to each other.  If you are looking for a fun romance with memorable twins (not like the shining), you want to pick this up immediately.  After this book, I can’t wait for the next novel by extremely talented Emma Hart.
