Today, I get to bring to you the newest book by the wonderful Emma Hart. Her newest romcom takes best friends + a lot of tequila = one oopsie. For my full review on this fun and addictive read keep reading after the book blurb.
Book Blurb:
TEQUILA + YOUR BEST FRIEND + YOUR BEDROOM = UM. WHOOPSIE?
Don’t sleep with your best friend.
Take it from me. I did it. And it was awful.
I-wish-the-tequila-made-me-forget kind of bad.
The problem is, Luke has forgotten. He swears that he can’t remember a thing about that night beyond the trays of tequila shots being set on the tables.
Except I can’t forget. I can’t forget how good his hands felt until I fell over and hit my hip on the dresser, and I sure as hell can’t forget the entire two minutes of tap-tap-squirt.
Awkward. Embarrassing. And the new subject of a couple of dirty lucid dreams.
But I have no intention of telling him what we did. Nothing good comes from telling your best friend he’s the worst guy you’ve ever slept with.
Which makes the tequila on my birthday a very, very bad idea…
Review:
Too much tequila has never been Aspen’s friend. When tequila has her making out with her best friend that ends with a very disappointing sexual escapade she doesn’t know how she is going to move on. When it appears, Luke doesn’t know what happened either she comes to terms with forgetting the tap, tap, squirt ever happened. As the weeks go by they both come to realize that they both know what happened and that they may actually want more. Can two life long best friends really become more or will their friendship implode?
This was such a fun read. Aspen and Luke were fantastic. It was really entertaining seeing how their first sexual encounter is discussed throughout the first part of the book. Not to mention as they start to admit they feel more than friendship for each other. I do think that the best part of this book were the side characters. Abuelita, Blaire, Tom, Justin and all of Luke’s family. They really added a great insight to the depth of their relationship already. Luke and Aspen were definitely a meant to be couple but taking that leap to the next level really added the angst that anyone would feel. If you are looking for a great rom com, look no further. Emma Hart never disappoints.
